Beam and I had met for breakfast the next day. I wanted to really ask him about his red eyes on Saturday. He looked like he had been crying but I had no idea on how to do so. So, I decided to ignore and pretend like nothing had happened. Anyways, we were in a good place now; eating and talking away as normal.

Sometimes, I wish I had the courage to tell Beam on how I feel towards him. But look at him, he's the school's Prince Charming; I doubt he even swings this way though I have had heard rumors. We were discussing about Park and Kit and how Ming and Pha appeared to be troubled lately too.

"Do you think maybe they are dating? Maybe they are secretly, which explains the drama." I snickered softly. Beam guffawed at that but then his face became serious, "How do you feel about friends dating? Is it a bad idea?"

I looked at him for abit, wondering what triggered the question. "I don't think it's a bad idea. Feelings are feelings. You cannot control who you fall for. And I think love is love, not defined by gender or the person. How about you, Beam?". I realized I was secretly desperate to hear his answer. It will give me an idea on whether I can tell him how I feel.

"I think maybe, dating a friend isn't a good idea. If the relationship fails, then the friendship fails too. I would not want to date a friend, though I agree, love is love, not defined by gender or the person.". My heart sank hearing that. There was no way he would ever accept my feelings then.

I sighed, hearing my heart break abit even before I had confessed anything. My love had failed even before I tried. Or was that my undoing? Should I try? Should I confess? Or keep quiet? I am the ICE PRINCE, for god's sake, why am I fluttering so much over one guy? Keep cool, Lam, keep cool! I scolded myself internally. I must have looked weird to Beam for he suddenly just shook me, "Are you ok??? Why are you spacing out?!??"

I jolted from the sudden movement and just shook my head. I smiled, reassuring him I was fine. I knew my smile didn't reach my eyes but I figured Beam wouldn't have noticed.

(Meanwhile, from Beam's POV)

Something was wrong with Lam. He thinks I did not notice but his smile did not reach his eyes.
