Ruby looks thoughtfully at the ground, silently thinking about Jaune's words, before looking up and smiling at him.
Ruby gives Jaune a hug before thanking him and walking away to find Weiss.
-
Weiss, who was still walking around the hallways, found herself by a balcony, where she saw the light of the sunset shining over Beacon.
With a sigh, Weiss walked over to the balcony as she began looking at the sunset.
She looked up when she heard footsteps approach her and saw Jaune walking over to her with a small smile. After several steps, he was already beside her, joining in watching the view.
"Jaune, how do you think I did today? You've encountered several types of grimm, right?" Weiss asked after several moments of silence.
"You did great today Weiss. You have the blood of a true huntress flowinh inside you." Jaune said to her.
"R-Really?" Weiss said surprised, before smiling.
"But so does, every student in this school." Jaune said to her, which left her in silence. Jaune looked at her but she ignored him and kept her eyes on the ground.
"Hey Weiss, what's troubling you?" Jaune asked with concern, making Weiss to look at him.
After a few moments, Weiss sighed before answering, "Well... I think I should have been the leader of team RWBY!"
Jaune was silent for a moment before exploding into loud laughter, "HAHAHAHA!"
Weiss was thrown off guard by the suddeness of Jaune's laughter. After a while of hearing Jaune's continued laughter, she was starting to get angry. "Excuse me?"
Jaune stopped laughing after noticing Weiss' scowling face looking right at him. "Alright, I'm sorry, it's just... you caught me off guard."
Weiss was starting to get confused, she didn't understand what Jaune was saying.
Seeing Weiss' confusion, Jaune decided to speak. "Weiss, I know that you're a person who spent her entire life getting exactly what she wanted, when she wanted it. It's because of that you're having trouble accepting this situation."
Weiss at first tried to deny Jaune's words, but under his gaze, she relented. "What do you mean?" She asked quietly, voice just above a whisper.
"Look at Ruby, she may not have learned from the best instructors and professors Atlas has to offer, but is she weaker than you? Ozpin chose her to be team leader for a reason, do you know what it is?" Jaune asked her.
After a moment of thinking, Weiss shook her head, unable to find an answer. "Heart."
Weiss looked confused and was about to say something, but Jaune beat her to it.
"Ruby possessess the heart of a true huntress. She's someone who genuinely believes that she can save everyone. I know that may sound naive, but it's the thought that counts. It's dreams like this that give people hope... hope that somewhere out there, there's someone willing to risk their lives to help people. Huntsmen and Huntresses who strive to save other people's lives are precious. Their pure and single minded dedication is separate from their natural talent and background. They don't risk their lives to earn praise. They simply feel that they must. I think, it's what led Ozpin to choose Ruby to lead your team." Jaune explained to her.
Weiss was silent, thinking about what Jaune said. She knew that her primary reason for being a huntress can't be compared to Ruby's. After calming down, Weiss felt guilty for the words she left earlier to Ruby. She knew that her partner was only trying to help, but her pride, kept her from acknowledging Ruby as team leader. Weiss was a little hurt that Jaune didn't count her as someone possessing a true huntresses heart, but she knew he was right. She wouldn't risk her life for some strangers she didn't know. With a sigh, Weiss gave Jaune a small smile, accepting Jaune's words although it hurt her pride.
Jaune smiled and spread his arms wide, Weiss snorted at this, although she did accept and gave him a hug. Weiss sighed in comfort, appreciating the warmth Jaune provided. After several moments, they broke off the hug, and Jaune watched as Weiss walked away, already looking for Ruby.
-
Jaune was standing by the sink, washing the dishes after him and his team just had dinner. He even delivered some of the food he cooked to team RWBY. He cooked just enough for both teams.
He was smiling as he was finishing the dishes, happy that both talks with Ruby and Weiss were successful.
After drying off the plates, Jaune walked out of the kitchen and into the bedroom were he found his team doing their own things. He smiled as he watch Nora jumping up and down on her bed, while Ren and Pyrrha were exchaging notes.
Pyrrha smiled when she noticed Jaune enter the bedroom, patting the seat beside her. Jaune went to her as they began to talk about their classes.
Nora smiled as she stopped her jumping, and watched her teammates. Her eyes shone brightly as she went to them, grinning all the way.
