I peeled her away from me laughing. I told Octavian to put on his black Easter suit and After I helped Auggie wash up, I put him in his black Easter suit. I only told them to do that because I didn't feel like picking out no other dress clothes and since they just wore it Sunday, it was accessible. Daddy thinking smart ain't he?

I put on my black suit and we were off to see Amb.

"Daddy we should get mommy flowers." Sata said in a dreamy voice. It was Amb's first trial coming back, that was a good idea.

We stopped off in the local grocery store and got her some pretty flowers then headed to court.

"We gon see bad men daddy?" Sata asked me.

"Everybody is innocent until proven guilty."

"What the heck does that mean?" She asked.

"Their not bad men, until the judge says so."

We all held hands as we went inside court. We went up to the fifth floor, where court was.

"Y'all got to be quiet once we go in there. There is no talking in court." I warned them.

We found the courtroom and went in.

"Mommy!!" Auggie yelled out in excitement upon seeing Amb completely ignoring what I said.

"Daddy said be quiet stupid." Sata pushed his head.

"Hey! Don't hit him." I popped her upside her head.

They hadn't started yet. Amb was sitting at the table going through papers.

She looked back and blew a kiss to Auggie and waved at us.

"Mommy gon get up there Pop-pop?" Auggie whispered.

"Yeah."

"When?"

"Soon."

Chad, one of my patients father entered from the back. He took a seat next to Amb and started showing her some papers.

The opposing counsel entered and sat at their table opposite of Amb's table.

"Mommy looks so pretty daddy." Sata leaned her elbow on my leg.

"That's all the time."

I looked over at O, whose head was bouncing back and forth because he kept dozing off.

He stayed up all night playing video games when we told him to go to bed. And now he was paying the price.

"Boy wake up." I reached over and tapped him.

He woke up.

The judge entered and everyone stood up.

I told the kids to stand up.

"Why we stand Pop-pop?" Auggie asked me.

"Out of respect."

"What respect mean?"

Everyone sat down and the judge started talking. Giving his opening statement.

I put my index finger to my lips telling Auggie to be quiet. Court started.

"Mrs. Alsina are you ready to begin?"

"That's mommy!" Auggie said excited and sort of loud.

"Ssshhhh." The bailiff told us.

"Yes your honor." Amb got up.

"You may proceed with your opening statement."

"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury. The evidence will show that On March 31, 2015 at 215 am, Cory Mann shot at his brother and grazed his ear when he tried to enter his house."
