camilo cackled as he and y/n ran out of casita, "you should've seen her face!"

y/n giggled, her arm locked with camilo's as they were being chased by their oldest cousin.

"camilo, y/n, i am going to kill you!" isabela's yells could be heard from the back.

y/n turned her head and her eyes widened, noticing the tight grip the girl had on her vines. "camilo, run faster!" she screamed, tugging him.

"oh god, i'm too young to die!" camilo cried out, running by the speed of light.

the twins huffed and puffed, leaning on a wall. "i think we lost her," camilo sighed out. y/n nodded in agreement.

as much as the two love pranking their cousin, it often comes with consequences.

"okay, we probably shouldn't go home now," y/n said. "let's go on a stroll or something."

camilo nodded and started walking off. y/n followed him quickly, linking her arm with his. the two wandered around encanto and they were chatting about anything. they let out little snorts and giggles, sharing little inside jokes.

camilo was telling y/n a story, gesturing his hands all around but didn't notice how quiet she was.

"i'm telling you, y/n/n, you were- hey, what's wrong?" his voice pitched down into a worried tone. y/n was rubbing her arms up and down, her lips in a thin line. she looked uncomfortable.

y/n looked at him, smiling nervously at him, "nothing, cami! i'm fine."

"you don't look fine," the boy shook his head. his attention was turned to a whistle from the side. camilo looked to the side and saw some guys with suggestive looks, calling for y/n's attention. his brows furrowed angrily. "y/n, we should go home."

"it's fine, camilo," y/n mumbled as the group of boys kept whistling at her.

camilo looked at her with a concerned look. his eyes then looked back up at the boys, a harsh scowl flashing on his face. they seemed to ignore him and continued with their disgusting remarks. camilo clenched his jaw in anger as it kept going on.

"come here, bonita, we'll show you a good time!"

that was camilo's last straw. y/n immediately grabs his closed fist, "camilo, don't do it."

her twin didn't listen, storming over to the group. y/n followed him like a lost puppy, begging him to stop.

"hey, asshole! do you think that's a nice way to speak to a lady?" camilo fumed. "you can clearly see my sister is uncomfortable! so you're either just stupid or dumb."

the boys didn't seem to take it seriously, snickering to themselves. "your sister is obviously just playing hard to get, madrigal. i can see how much she wants me," one of them spoke.

y/n frowned, grabbing camilo's wrist. to say that camilo was angry was an understatement. the nice boy who was alway giggling around encanto was no longer to be seen.

"you puta!" he yelled out, clenching his fist once again.

"cami, don't!-"

the boy groaned, throwing his head back from how hard his nose was hit. he grabbed his nose in pain, his nose starting to bleed while camilo glared at him. the boy's friends cowered immediately, fearing that they might be next. y/n stood back, mouth agape before slowly smiling proudly.

"you remember who is in control of things around here, right? mi familia. so once i tell my abuela about the foul things you've said i'm sure she will kick all of you out."

the group had fear stricken across their faces after camilo's statement. he crosses his arms, "now, shoo! piss off."

they nodded their heads and quickly scurried off. camilo's glare faded away as he looked at his sister. "are you okay?" camilo questioned worriedly.

"yeah," she smiled. "you really didn't have to do that."

he scoffed, "boys were hitting on you! and as your older brother i have to protect you."

y/n shook her head, chuckling lightly, "okay, thanks, big brother."

camilo grinned and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, side-hugging her. "let's go home now, hermana," he said.

she nodded and the two made their way back to casita.

that was the last time they heard from those boys. camilo made sure they were kicked out of encanto, like the good older brother he is.
