It took 6 hours to get there but it gave me time to think on where I could stay. I decided to look up my uncle Max I have known him since I was a little girl my mum and him wore good friends they were like brother and sister.

When I got to the sign welcoming you to Santa Carla I pulled over and got out. I climbed to the very top of it looking for something very important something my mother and me did when I was very little. With a triumphant shout I looks closely at the old memory it was a carving of a raven flying with a child like sun in the background. I remember the day me and my mother did this.

It was a Wednesday afternoon I had just finished in nursery there was tears falling down my cheeks because a boy in my class had picked on me saying mean things to me. So when mum came to pick me up she took me to my favourite ice cream shop I got my favourite mint choc chip where as mum got cookiedough she then drove up to the welcome sign after both finishing our ice cream we climbed to the very top just as the sun was setting. There at the top she took out her pocket knife and said to me

"My little Raven I love you with all my heart and with my love I make this symbols just for you and me"

She said drawing a raven flying through the air she then handed me the knife making sure I won't cut myself on it. She told me to draw something for my love to her so with my six year old self I drew a sun. Pointing at it she told me this is our love this symbol shows it. We stayed there till the sun set it was the best day in my six year old life.

Tracing it with my index finger I wished for the good old days where if was all that simple. Deciding I had spent enough time up here I got back in my car and drove to where Max's old shop was hoping it was still located there. It seemed I was in luck it was open and I could see Max behind the registrar from the window.

Stepping out of the car I hoped he would be ok at seeing me checking my reflection in the mirror my brown curled hair was held up in a big poke a dot blue bow. My pale skin had traces of glitter on it from my outfit my green eyes sparked from the street lights my dimpled cheeks were pulled down in a worried frown. I was wearing a white sundress with little gold glitter sparrows on it under that I had on some hot pink leggings with a old worn army jacket on my shoulders With little black and gold flats on My lip still had the little hoop in it.

Walking nervously to the front door I stopped letting out a nervous breath. Walking in to the shop I walks straight to Max at the till I stood there for a full minuet before he lifted his head from the paperwork. But I then spent another four minutes standing there as Max just stared at me after that awkward four minutes Max walks right in front of me and said "is that you little Raven" nodding softly Max swept me into a bone crushing hug.

We started talking about what we missed out from years apart I was just sitting on the counter chatting to Max when I was tackled to the ground by a big furry beast of a dog looking at Thorn I couldn't believe Max kept him i was only six when me and Max found Thorn abandoned on the side of the road he was just a little puppy less than 7 months old Max let me keep him. Later on we found a thorn stuck in his fur so for that I called him Thorn the only people he let near him were me Max and mum and he was very protective of us me especially. But after mum died the man I called 'father' wouldn't let me take him with me. Hugging Thorn close to me I held my face in his fur so happy that he's with me again. Max suggested I take a look around and to take Thorn with me just incase. Walking about I remember all the good times with mum Max and Thorn all of us together like one big happy family.
