A New Shield

"You're choosing me to rebuild Shield?" Coulson asked in awe

"From scratch. Take your time and do it right. May you'll still watch his back?" Fury asked

"Of course." May said

"Obi Wan. Can I count on you as a Jedi High Council member to do your best to keep United Republic military intelligence off Coulson's back."

"I'll try my best but I can't make any promises." Obi Wan replied

"Good enough for me. I'll be disappearing off the grid."

Fury turned to leave the office but Coulson stopped him.

"How should I proceed? Where do I start?" Coulson asked

"That's up to you...Director." Fury holding out his hand

Coulson shook his hand and the two men smiled.

"Wow so you're the boss now. I mean not of our team but all of Shield." Ahsoka said

"Ha, ha Ahsoka my SO has a higher rank than your SO." Skye teased

"Actually May is going to be your SO. Though she's my 2nd in command so she still outranks Anakin." Coulson said with a mischievous grin

"Actually Anakin is a member of the Avengers so he outranks May." Ahsoka boasted

"May was the 1st Shield Agent Fury asked to join the Avengers. The only reason he selected Natasha Romanov in her place was because May refused to do field missions after her mission in Bahrain." Coulson explained

"That's the mission where May got her nickname the Calvary. So instead of Black Widow, the Calvary would have been an Avenger." Skye said with an approving nod

"Just remember not to call May the Calvary. Her training sessions are brutal enough and calling her the Calvary would make them worse." Coulson warned

"So does that mean me and my Master can train with Skye and May? Please?" Ahsoka asked

"Did you not hear me warn you that May's training sessions are brutal?" Coulson replied

"I know. But I wanna see my master fight May without the Force and his lightsaber."

"Now you're just wishing Anakin suffers a humiliating defeat when he's been a very good mentor towards you Ahsoka. He told me about what you did on Ryloth/Algeria? He was very proud of you."

"Really? Wow that's awesome! So what's next for our team? I can't wait for the next mission. I wanna take out more Separatist droids!" Ahsoka asked

"I'll let everyone know in the morning. Though with Fitz still recovering from his injuries our group is smaller but as long as we stick together we will help the United Republic end the Clone Wars. For now I need to talk to Skye alone." Coulson said

"Ok. Good night Skye. Good night Coulson."

Ahsoka smiled and waved at them as she left Coulson's office to go to her quarters.

"Good night." Coulson and Skye replied

"Skye I have a lead on where your father could be. R2 was tracing Ward's droid AD-3. He traced Ward to Felucia/Brazil. It's a world the United Republic failed to take from the Separatist."

"Meaning he's using the Separatist to get to my father. Ward thinks doing that is going to make up for all the horrible things he did to us. It's why he helped me rescue Ace at the compound on Ryloth/Algeria."

"We need to keep an eye on him. I've been interrogating Agent Hand to get a full picture of what's going in Ward's head. He's erratic and unpredictable but he genuinely cares about you."

"So what? He's a piece of garbage."

"I get it. I don't like Ward either but we need to be prepared for him to do whatever it takes to get to your father. But...whatever happens we'll face it together and we'll learn what the Jedi Order tried to hide from you." Coulson promised

Skye hugged Coulson and Coulson after being surprised for a moment hugged Skye.

"I'm sorry Sir. I just...thank you for believing in me. You believed in me when no one else would. I'm so grateful you helped me to get this far."

"You welcome Skye. Believe it or not you've helped all of us on the Bus. Especially Ahsoka. She looks up to you like a big sister. I know together we'll get through this."

Coulson mind started playing flashes of images. Clones killing Jedi, buildings on fire and Avengers fighting each other and random people with powers, people who weren't human but Inhuman.

"Coulson are you ok?"

"What...oh yeah I'm fine. I'm just tired. Good night Skye."

When Coulson closed the door. He started rambling about the Force and the Clone Wars being a lie and evolution just like Garrett did. Apparently the GH325 chemical that brought Coulson to life caused him to experience negative side effects just like Garrett and the previous test subjects. He and May needed to find a cure before the symptoms got worse. If Coulson succumbed to madness and insanity than Shield would never be rebuilt and the Seperatist would gain an advantage in the Clone Wars.
