"What are they saying?" Max asked, standing beside Stiles.

Scott's ears perked up as he eavesdropped on the conversation. "His dad's dead," he whispered, eyes wide. "They think he was murdered."

Jade felt as if a stone had dropped in her stomach. Murdered? Isaac wasn't capable of that. Was he? "Are they saying he's a suspect?" she questioned.

"I'm not sure. Why?" Scott replied.

"Because they can lock him in a holding cell for 24 hours," Stiles sighed.

"During the full moon," Max whispered.

"How good are these holding cells at holding people?" Scott asked worriedly.

"People? Good," Stiles replied.

"Werewolves on their first full moon? Probably not that good," Jade stated. Isaac cast a look back at the group as he was led off with the sheriff. This definitely wasn't going to work out in their favour. Or in anyone's favour for that matter.

"Stiles, if this goes on any type of a record, I'm going to personally strangle you!" Max hissed.

They'd worked out that if there was a witness, Noah might not have to hold Isaac in a cell overnight. But, of course with their luck, who was that witness? Jackson. So they'd landed themselves outside the principals office so that they could hear what Jackson was telling the police. Or more so, Scott could hear.

Noah and a deputy walked out of the office, stopping when they spotted the group. Stiles frantically scrambled for a magazine to hide his face. Jade rolled her eyes at him, as his father had clearly seen him.

Noah sighed in defeat. "Hi Scott. Hi Max and Jade," he commented. They all sent him a small wave, Jade drumming her fingers on the chair. The man paused, about to say something to his son, but gave up and walked away.

"Boys," an all too familiar voice called out from the office. She felt a shiver go down her spine.  "And girl, my apologies. Come on in," Gerard said. They all cast a small glance of panic at each other. Great. Just great.

Reluctantly, they made their way to their feet, taking seats in front of his desk. Where the hell was Principal Wilson?

Gerard grabbed their files, flicking through them. The room was silent, the teenagers still casting looks at each other, trying to communicate without talking. The only sound was a clock ticking in the corner and the chains on Jade's boots as she bounced her leg.

"Scott McCall," Gerard finally said, looking up. "Academically not the most accomplished, but I see you have become quite the star athlete."

"Jade Pierce. Academically quite the opposite- nearly perfect grades. The only extracurricular I can see is theatre, but at least that's something." Stiles cast a look at the girl. Since when did she do theatre?

"Max Pierce," he continued, pausing briefly. "Are you two twins?" he asked. They nodded silently. He looked between the two, before turning back to the file. "Also quite academically achieved. Not many extracurriculars, only a part of the library committee."

"Stiles Stilinski. Oh, perfect grades! But little to no extracurriculars. Maybe you should try lacrosse," he stated, closing the files.

"Oh actually I'm already-" Stiles began, but Gerard cut him off.

"Hold on," the man said. "McCall. You're the Scott that was dating my granddaughter."

Jade cast a look at Scott, silently hoping he wouldn't screw it up. "We were dating but not anymore. Not dating, not seeing any of each other or doing anything with each other... at all," he replied. She was physically getting second hand embarrassment here. So much for not screwing it up.

"Relax, Scott, you look like you're about to crack a cyanide pull with your teeth," Gerard laughed. It was a hollow sound. It was if you had tried to get a cat to bark; it didn't work.

"Just a hard break up," Scott said. He nervously started to chew the inside of his cheek.

"Oh, that's too bad. You seem like a pretty nice kid to me," he replied. Max laughed, quickly turning it into a cough. Jade kicked him, shooting him a glare, but he just couldn't help it. He wondered how much of a nice kid Gerard would think he was if he found out Scott was a werewolf.

"Now listen here. Yes, I am the principal-" Okay, so that was confirmed. Things just seemed to get better and better. "-but I don't want you to think of me as the enemy." Now it was Jade's turn to laugh, which turned into yet again another coughing fit.

"Is that so?" Stiles sarcastically remarked. It seemed he was thinking along the same lines as the blonde.

"Do you need a drink, Jade?" Gerard asked. He either didn't hear Stiles' comment or chose to ignore it. She shook her head quietly. Knowing the hunter, he would probably try and poison it. "However, this being my first day, I do need to support my teachers," he continued. "So, unfortunately, someone is going to have to take the fall and stay behind for detention."

The group slowly turned to look at Stiles, who was fiddling with his fingers. Noticing how quiet the room had got, he glanced up. He sighed, Jade shooting him her best attempt at a pleading smile.

"Scott, I swear to God, wait!" Jade hissed, running after her cousin. Scott was sprinting down the stairs and corridors, trying to get to the entrance. She did not have the lungs for this.

Heading outside, Isaac was sat in a car, about to be took to the sheriffs station. He glanced back at them as they drove off. "Well what are we meant to do now?" she panted. Scott shrugged his shoulders in defeat, making his way to the door again.

A screech of tires behind them made the two teenagers turn around again. "Get in," Derek said, pulling down his sunglasses.

"Are you serious?" Scott exclaimed.

"Yeah, do you have a death wish because you're certainly working on getting one," she hissed. The nerve this man had.

"You did that. That's your fault!" Scott yelled.

"I know that," Derek sighed. "Now get in the car and help me."

"No, I've got a better idea. I'm gonna call a lawyer! Because a lawyer might actually have a chance at getting him out before the moon goes up!"

"Not when they do a real search of the house," Derek replied.

Jade felt the uneasy feeling in her stomach get worse. "What do you mean?" she asked, eyebrows furrowed.

"Whatever Jackson said to the cops, what's in the house is worse. A lot worse," he responded.

The two cousins shared a look before heading towards the car. Jade got in the front, throwing her bag at her feet, as Scott slid into the back seat.

Jade slapped the Hale across the face, leaving a red mark across the right side. "What the hell!" he yelled.

"That's what you get for being an idiotic, self centred person! You can't just go around turning teenagers whenever you want! And just so you know, I'm not doing this for you, I'm doing this for Isaac because he's my friend. Now drive."

The man started the car, his face stinging. He was kind of in shock that he'd just been bitch-slapped by a sixteen year old. But then again, it was Jade so how surprised could he be. "And I thought we were on good terms," he murmured.

"We were on good terms before you became an Alpha and started becoming very full of yourself. Maybe if you could tone that down by 70% we could be on good terms again," she replied nonchalantly.

"I'd take being on good terms because she'd scary when she's mean," Scott commented.

"I just got off the phone with Allison, because she couldn't get on the line with Jade," Max commented, as Stiles got into his jeep. "Her family were asking loads of questions about how Lydia got bit and then they sent this guy out. He's dressed as a sheriff's deputy. I think they're sending him to the station for Isaac. He's got a box with a wolfsbane symbol on it. So we need to go. Like, now."
