"It's only a matter of time. Miraz' men and war machines are on their way. That means those same men aren't protecting his castle," Peter spoke.

"What do you propose we do?" Reepicheep asked.

Y/n stood with the others, planning, while Briar sat on the stone table with Lucy, making small braids in her hair.

"We-" Caspian began.

"Our-" Peter spoke at the same time.

Caspian lets Peter speak.

"Our only hope is to strike them before they strike us," Peter said.

"That's suicide," Briar spoke, finishing a little braid in Lucy's hair.

"No one has ever taken the castle," Caspian added.

"There's always a first time," Peter argued.

"We'll have the element of surprise," A dwarf named Trumpkin commented.

"But we have the advantage here," Caspian pointed out.

"If we dig in, we could hold them off indefinitely," Susan agreed.

"If the Telemarines are smart, they'll just starve us out," Edmund spoke.

"I agree. We'd just be waiting for a trap down here. We'd have a better chance if we fought first," Y/n added. Briar rolled her eyes.

"They act like those are the only two options," Briar muttered to Lucy, who nodded.

"We could collect nuts!" A squirrel spoke.

"Yes! And throw them at the Telemarines! Shut up!" Reepicheep said. "I think you know where I stand, sire."

"You know this is a terrible idea, right? It'll turn into a bloodbath," Briar countered.

"Exactly," Caspian agreed.

"Your idea isn't any better. Many will die in either of your ideas," Briar spoke.

"Well what do you propose we do then?" Susan asked, genuinely curious.

"Briar, just be quiet. You don't know anything about planning for war," Y/n said, aggravated.

Briar glared at Y/n and clenched her jaw, looking down.

"If I can get your troops in, can you handle the guards?" Peter asked a centaur.

"Or die trying, my liege," Glenstorm, the centaur, replied.

"That's what I'm worried about," Lucy said.

"Not you too, Lucy," Peter spoke.

Lucy glared at Peter before continuing. "You're all acting like there are only two options. Dying here or dying there."

"Not sure you've really been listening, Lu," Peter said.

"No, you're not listening. Or have you forgotten who really defeated the white witch?" Lucy countered. Briar smiled at her.

"I think we've waited for Aslan long enough," Peter said.

"You've only been here for a few days and you're already growing impatient?" Briar asked. Her comment was ignored by the high king.

~Time skip~

"I'm going! I want to fight!" Briar yelled.

"No! You stay here with Lucy!" Y/n yelled back.

"I'm tired of you treating me like a baby! I'm going. We both know I'm the better fighter," Briar said, walking off before Y/n could argue. Y/n sighed in frustration.
