A day had passed and right after school session ended, I went to the hospital Sooyoung's in. I went straight to her ward to see that she's reading a book. As always, her eyes were full of emptiness and pain. It hurts me seeing her this way...
She didn't even notice me coming in.
I sighed mentally and went up to sit by her. It caused her to raise her head to look at me
"Oh it's just you." she responded and focused back onto the book she's reading
"Yeah, just me for today. How are you feeling ?" I asked
"Miserable. You ?" she responded shortly l
"It was normal" I replied
"That's good" she responded
There was a moment of silence between us
"Hey... You're gonna be discharged this Saturday right ?" I asked
"Yes" she replied shortly
"Are you gonna go back to your house then...?" I asked
She went quiet for a bit
"Do I have any other choice anyways ? I'm angry but I don't really have anywhere else to stay at" she replied
"What about Wonwoo's place ? I'm sure he'll be more than glad to look after you" I suggested
"You think so ?" she asked
"I know so. I've been friends with him for years already. He loves you so much that I'm sure he will. Though, you must really discuss it with your family though" I said as I scratched the back of my head
She sighed
"Maybe, I'll just confront my parents about their wrongdoings towards me. Because of me being too much of a coward, it was messing with my head and making me taking the wrong path instead. After getting discharged, I'll talk to them first." said Sooyoung
"Though... Can you ask Wonwoo about your suggestion for me ? That'll be such a big help for me" she requested
"Sure, that's the least I could do" I replied
She held my hand as she smiled gently towards me
"Thanks a lot. Because of you, I know how it feels to be alive and I'm glad to have met you. Yet again, I'm so sorry for being an asshole back then Joshua" said Sooyoung followed by a soft chuckle
"Goodness. Stop with your apology. I've forgiven you and that's on period. We've been best friends for months remember ? Your past mistakes didn't affect me in any ways either so you don't have to apologize anymore. Now, let's just focus on the present" I scolded
She laughed
"Alright alright Gentleman. I'll take your words" she responded
