(Dream flashback) Y/n's age 18
The sound of a tree being cut down is hear. We get a good look at who's cutting the tree down. It's Kratos and with one last swing he lets out a scream and he swings his axe right through the tree making it fall over. Kratos puts his axe on his back and went to pick up the tree but as he reaches for the tree the bandages that wrapped around his left arm came undone. Kratos takes a deep breath and starts to wrap them back. Just then Two boys come walking over. The smaller one has something in his hands.
Atreus: I found some.
Atreus trying to see what his father was doing tried to get a better look from the other side but Kratos kept his back turned to make sure Atreus didn't see anything.
Kratos: Get in the boat, boys.
Atreus just nods and starts walking to the boat. The other boy just stands there and looks at his father . Kratos finishes re-wrapping the bandages and goes to pick up the tree but the older boy stops his father.
Y/n: Let me father.
Y/n bends down and picks the up the tree and puts it on his shoulder and starts walking to the boat. They make it to the boat and Y/n puts the tree down and grabs a hook and puts the hook into the tree. He then calls his brother.
Y/n: Brother, here tie the rope to the boat.
Y/n throws the rope to his little brother. Atreus catches it and ties the rope to the boat.
Kratos: That is enough.
Y/n then puts the tree into the water and then gets into the boat with his father and little brother. Kratos grabs the paddle and starts rowing the boat.
Atreus: Father?
Kratos: What?
Atreus: Did something change? The forest feels different now.
Y/n: Now that you said something, I feel it as well.
Kratos: Everything is different, boys. Try not to dwell on it.
Atreus: Yes, sir.
Y/n: Yes, father.
They make it to another boat dock and Atreus unties the rope from the boat and at the same time Y/n grabs the tree from the water and unhooks it as well. Y/n then pick the tree up again and puts it onto his shoulder. The father and sons start walking back home. They make it home and Y/n puts the tree down.
Kratos: That was the last.
Kratos then grabs his axe and starts chopping away at the tree. Y/n and Atreus make their way into the cabin. Arteus opens the door and grabs a candle and makes his way to the wrapped body with Y/n behind him. Arteus starts saying a prayer as he light up the other candles.
Atreus: Lo, there do I see my mother. Lo is there do I see my Father. Lo is there do I see my Brother.Lo, there do they call to me, Lo, there do they call to me. Lo, there do they call to me.
Both Y/n and Atreus turn around and see their father standing at the doorstep.
Atreus: She's ready.
Kratos walks over to the body and leans down.
Kratos: Find your way home. You are free.
Kratos then carries the body outside to the chopped firewood and lays the body down on top. Kratos then gets to a knee and using his axe and a stone he sets the wood on fire. The three of them stand there in silence watching the fire burn. Atreus realizes that he forget to take the knife that was on the body. He runs up to the burning body and grabs the knife but it was too hot and Atreus burns his hand and drops the knife.
