Chapter 26

"B-b-Brent!" I said getting really excited! I walked over to him and gave him a huge hug.

I didn't want to ask him if we were dating just yet because he just woke up. "Uh who are you?" He asked. He doesn't remember me.

"I'm your girlfriend or I was at least. It's kind of complicated." I turned to Nick. "So he doesn't remember anything?" "Nope. Just somethings." "Does he remember you?" "Nope."

Well this isn't going to answer my question at all. "Wait. I actually had a girlfriend?" "Yeah. And she was me." "Oh. I don't remember you, but you're really pretty." I felt my checks get red.

"Thank you." I said, in a happy mood.

"I suppose I should go get the doctor, to tell him that Brent is awake." I said. "Yeah. Probably." Nick replies.

I walk out to the front desk of that floor. "Hi, um Brent is awake. I'm sure you know what room right?" "Yes. I'll be sure to let him know. Thank you."

About 5 minutes later the doctor walks in. "Hi Brent, I'm your doctor. I'm Dr. Fitzgererald." "Hi doctor. So, what happened to me?" "Well Brent, you were in a car crash. It was heavily pouring. Another car hit you and you were rushed here. We called your girlfriend I'm assuming and best friend." He said looking over at Nick.

Nick and I both nodded. Was it right to nod? We were 'taking a break' last time I checked.

Ugh. Why can't things just be back to normal? I thought to myself.

"So when can he get out?" I asked. "Today, if he feels like it." He nods. "Okay. I'll go get the paper work." "Okay. Thank you doctor." Nick says.

The doctor comes back in about 20 minutes later. He goes over what happened, and how he'll have to rest for the next few weeks.

We all load up in Nick's car. I take the back seat so the two boys can have the front.

I have Brent's phone and the rest of his stuff with me. Nick and I have been charging it, incase he woke up.

I unlocked it, I know his password so I typed it in. He had a bunch of texts. I wasn't going to look through them. But I was going to see who they were from. Haha, sneaky girlfriend I am.

He has a lot of texts from one girl. Her name was Jessica. Wait Jessica as in Luke's old girlfriend?

I looked at the recent text.

Jessica: Hey babe, Luke and I broke up and I just wanted to say that when you wake up text me. Love you lots<3

Wait! He is texting Luke's girlfriend! She was cheating on him the whole time! I had to tell Luke about this.

Mia: hey Luke you home?

It took him a few minutes to respond.

Luke: yeah. Why?

Mia: can I come over. I need to tell you something.

Luke: sure.

I already knew where he lived. "Nick, can you please take me to Luke's house?" "Why?" "Just take me there!" I shouted. "Alright. Jeez calm yourself. What's the address?" I told him the address. We got to Luke's house.

Luke was waiting on his front step. "Bye guys." "Wait," Brent said, "who is that?" He asked me. "A person, why?" "Because he's really handsome." "I'll tell him that. But bye. I'll just catch a ride home wit him." "Okay." Nick said.

I run up to Luke and give him a huge hug. He squeezed hard back. I think he was suffocating me.

We go inside.

"So what did you need to talk to me about?" He asks. "Well, Brent woke up and he got out today, but I checked his messages and he was texting Jessica." His mouth opened wide. "She was cheating on you the whole time."

"Wow. I can't believe that she was cheating on me. But how long?"
