Chapter 12

"Oh. That's cool." I said trying not to sound angry or mad.

"Yeah. And who are you?"

"Well I thought I was his girlfriend." I said really emphasizing the I.

"Oh. Well this is awkward." She said.

"Yeah. I'm just going to go then."

"Do you want me to tell Brent you were here?"

"No. Don't worry about me. Don't tell him I was here."

"Okay." She sounded cheerful. Like she just accomplished something.

I left. When I walked out the door my eyes filled with tears. Why am I not surprised.

Brent pulled in after I got down the stairs of his porch.

"Hey babe."

"Don't call me that you liar and cheater!"

"What are you talking about?"

"Oh your ex Nicole is here and you guys are trying to work things out apparently."

"Why would she be here? I don't like her anymore. I like you Mia! Can I just go talk to her and clear things up then we can talk?"

"No! Don't talk to me ever again!"

I walked away.

"Mia! Wait!" He started chasing after me.

I started running but he caught me.

He grabbed my arm.

"Mia! You have to believe me. I hate Nicole. You don't even know what she did to me."

"I don't want to hear your lies! just let me go!" I tried to wiggle my way out of his arm but he was too strong.

"Mia, don't make it be like this please!" By this point we were both crying.

"Just let me go before I call the cops!"

"Mia please we can work this out!"

"Brent. Let me go! Or I am going to call the cops."

He didn't let go. He didn't even budge. Instead he pulled me into a hug. He tried to hug me but I pulled away with all my might.

I fell on the ground and hurt my butt. He started laughing.

"Just what you wanted isn't it to hurt me even more."

I started balling while sitting on the ground. I pulled my hands to my face.

Brent came and sat next to me.

"Mia. It's not like that. You know I would never hurt you."

I couldn't get any words out.

Then all of the sudden a car pulled into my drive way.

It was Nick....
