•~•Chapter II•~•

Start from the beginning

Rather than telling me everything, Seth motioned for me to follow him. I walked along with him to the kitchen, which shockingly was spotless of any kind of mess. I guess the only room he doesn't bother cleaning is the study.

"Rather than just telling you how to use a cooking spell, it will be better for me to demonstrate and explain."

I nodded and watched as Seth continued to face me, his hand was gracefully moving. I began to notice he was assembling a sandwich. The ingredients were being moved from their various locations, some were materializing out of nowhere. Soon the sandwich was complete and I realized I missed Seth's entire explanation.

Seth sighed, knowing I didn't listen to the lecture, he explained it again. He said that all I have to do is envision what I want, for example a sandwich, then focus on the components of said food. If the parts are not readily available, then I would have to create them.

He said that the creation of specific food items is the only part of the spell that can have issues. When creating the food, I will need to clear my mind. If I was thinking of anything other than the food I was trying to create a spell may be added to the food, causing unwanted effects to happen to the person consuming the food.

Since I was just beginning there is a greater risk of me accidently adding spells to food, so he advised me to not summon food. I can use the spell, I just need to use caution when I might need to create food.

Understanding what Seth explained to me, I tried to mimic the sandwich he created.

However tried is the key word there; my sandwich looked like a toddler assembled it.

Seth laughed and said, "Well at least we don't have to worry about anyone being suspicious with how good it looks. So I don't have to worry about you exposing magic that way."

I pouted at his comment, but that expression changed when he said that I can head on home now. I quickly thanked him, grabbed my spell book I sat on the counter, and ran out of the house.

I jogged home and shortly I was standing on the front porch. I hoped that no one was by the door because I wanted to take my spell book up to my room before Nicole or Lily noticed it.

Shrugging my shoulders, I opened the door. Seeing no one, I breathed a sigh of relief and closed the door. My relief was short lived when Nicole walked out of the kitchen holding a plate of fries.

"LIL!! ZELDA'S HOME!!" Nicole shouted, nearly dropping her fries.

Shortly after her shouting, I watched Lily sprint down the steps, jumping over the last three steps.

"What's that?" Nicole asked, gesturing to the spell book in my hands.

"It's a book." Lily responded for me.

"No, I meant- never mind. Can I see it?"

"Not now, I'm going to put it in my room so we can go do something. Since I was nice enough to leave early." I said, trying to move her attention away from the illegal book.

Luckily it worked. Nicole made Lily go grab a card game. While Lily was getting the game, I ran up to my room and stuffed my spell book under my pillow. Heading back downstairs to the living room, I saw Lily dealing out Uno cards. I sighed, I had to put spell learning on hold because of a game of Uno.

Once I sat down by the table, we began our game. We managed to make it through several rounds without one of us throwing our cards.

"So, where do you even do when you leave?" Lily asked, as she was gathering the cards Nicole scattered everywhere because I made her draw four.

"Oh. I, uh, I go to visit a friend. They're showing me some things." I replied, technically not lying.

Lily laughed, "Maybe you should get them to teach you how to cook. Then we won't have to always cook for you."

"I will have you know, I've gotten better at cooking." I retorted back at her.

"Oh really?"

"Yes, really. I can prove it too. What do you want me to cook?"

"Pizza!" Nicole blurted out.

Lily sighed and told me to go ahead and make that. I nodded and told them to wait in the living room, because I mustn't be disturbed when I'm cooking. I totally didn't say that because I was going to use magic.

The two of them stayed put, and I walked to the kitchen. Upon entering, I began to think over of the cooking spell. Once I was sure I knew what I was doing, I began making the pizza.

I was proud with my result. Granted for me to get this result it took me three tries, and using up all the pizza stuff we had in the house. But I still did it.

Grabbing the pizza, I shoved it in the already pre-heated oven to warm it up a bit. After a few moments I took the pizza out to my friends, who started another round of Uno.

Seeing the pizza in my hands, Nicole jumped off the floor she was seated on, and snatched the pizza up. She placed it on the table, contemplating which slice to eat first.

Lily looked at the pizza suspiciously, and watched in horror as Nicole started to stuff a slice into her mouth.

"Nickel! Don't eat it! It looks normal, she must have done something to it!" Lily shouted as she tried to pry the slice of pizza from the now hissing girl's mouth.

"It's okay, I didn't do anything to it." I said reassuringly.

Lily finally let Nicole have her pizza. The three of us were chatting for a few hours while Nicole devoured the entire pizza, because she refused to share any of it.

Once it began to get late, Lily decided we should watch a movie before we went to bed. Once Nicole and I agreed, Lily ran off and grabbed a movie.

Half way through the movie, I heard Nicole snoring on the floor, her head covered in several pillows. Laughing Lily suggested we call it a night. Agreeing I got up from my seat and began to walk up the stairs.

Lily went to her room, Nicole remained on the living room floor, and I went to my room. Sitting down at my desk, I grabbed my spell book and began to write down some notes. Yawning, I walked over to my bed, collapsed in the mattress, and thought about what was in store for me tomorrow, before dozing off.
