Several days have passed since Seth became my teacher. Unfortunately for me, I still haven't learned any spells... or anything magical now that I think of it. But whatever, Seth said something about me needing my "mark" first. I think he said I need one to help me control my magic, or something of that sort. I mean there were a few interesting things I got from the past few lessons. For example there are apparently different kinds of magic wielding people. I think I'll write them down, so I at least have it for future reference:

Wizards – they excel in magic based spells, and struggle with elemental spells (if they can even use those spells). They are usual male, but it isn't too rare to hear of a female wizard nowadays.

Witches – they are experts in potions and runes. Most of the time they cannot perform any spells without the help of a potion or ruin. They are commonly female, but there are males (which they preferred to be called Warlocks).

Mages – Astounding in elemental magic; usually they choose to excel in a certain element (i.e. lightning or fire). Gender distribution with this is relatively equal, males are just slightly more common.

Sorcerers – They are capable of using both magic magic and elemental magic. Apparently pretty rare too. And since they can use any kind of magic, they are limited in how much they can use; fatigue means they are low on "magic" and need to rest. When low on magic, certain spells will not work. They are like Mages with gender distribution.

Hmm, I believe that's all he told me.  Oh yeah, note for probably future reference; magic can be given to "mortals" as Seth called them. Meaning they can use magic as well for a brief amount of time. As interesting as all this stuff is, I'm seriously hoping that I get my "mark" today; I want to learn some actual magic.

As I wrote down the last words in my spell book, I smiled. It was like I was back in middle school and was writing in one of those cheesy diaries. But hey, I was told to write down notes freely in this thing, so write notes I will.

Closing the book, I heard a faint knock on my door. Letting out a quiet laugh I scraped myself off my bed, shoved my spell book into a bag, threw the bag over my shoulder and walked over to the door. Before I was able to grab the doorknob I heard some faint singing behind the door.

"Zee, we know you're in there.."

Not wanting to let the people outside my door parody the whole song, I grabbed the doorknob. However the singing stopped suddenly when there was a slight thud sound. After the thud there was laughter. Not wanting the people outside to get hurt, or break my door, I opened the door slowly.

I was greeted with the sight of my housemates and best friends, Nicole and Lily, laying on the floor.

"Uhh, should I come back later?"

Lily quickly sat up and said, "No. Nickel was being an idiot and ran into the wall, falling down, and taking me with her."

"Besides," Nicole added, "Since it's currently summer vacation, and we all have off today, we need to do something, go somewhere, anything!"

My heart sank when she finished her idea. I didn't want to tell them I already had something to do, but I also didn't want to lie to them. Sighing, I sorta told them the truth:

"I'm sorry guys.. I'm busy today..."

"ZELDA! You are always busy!"

"Hey, don't worry. I'll get home early today." I said, figuring that Seth would let me leave early today.

"You better.." Nicole threatened under her breath, walking downstairs with Lily.

I felt horrible that I couldn't hang out with them. It was on days like these that I wished I wasn't a sorceress and had to take any training opportunity I could get. But I had to do what I had to do.
