Looking at my phone to see the time, I began to panic. I was late for today's lesson, and I had to pick up something for Seth. Not wanting to be any later than I was, I darted down the hall, then the stairs; nearly running over Nicole in the process.
"Wait!" She shouted.
"Whaaaaat? I'm running late, I need to get going. Can't this wait??" I whined in response.
"No. I want you to tell me where you keep going. You've been leaving way too early for your job, so you must be heading somewhere before work."
"I'll.... I'll... I will tell you later, I gotta go!"
I sprinted out of the house, not wanting to be stopped again. Slowing down a bit once I reached the sidewalk, I started walking to the library; Seth wanted me to grab a couple of books for him.
Once I made it to the library and asked the librarian what Seth told me to ask; I was able to finally get the books. And let me say, they are heavy. Heavy to the point that I was convinced they were hollowed out and filled with rocks.
As I struggled to carry them out of the library, I was met with an interesting sight in front of me: Nicole was wearing all black and trying to hide behind a lamp post. Lily was sitting on a bench, pretending to read a book.
I sighed and walked over to them, thinking that a little conversation will get me back on their good side.
"Hey guys."
"Hi, Zelda." Lily replied, while Nicole placed her index finger on her top lip making a fake moustache.
"As much as I would love to stay and talk, I kind of have to take these bricks to a friend." I said, gesturing to the heavy books in my hands.
"Who's your friend?" I heard Lily ask, but since I was already speed walking away I didn't answer.
Since I was really late for training today, I was worried with what Seth's response would be when I finally arrived. Luckily for me, his house wasn't too far away from the library.
Soon I was able to reach his house. However, since I was carrying giant books, I couldn't open the door. Wanting to put the books down as soon as possible, I slammed my forehead against the door, hoping that Seth would hear and open it.
Luckily the door did open, and I somehow managed to walk through the door. Sitting the books down on the nearest piece of furniture, I was greeted by a very annoyed sorcerer.
"You're late... Again." Seth said.
"Hey! I had to pick up your stinking bricks, and had to convince my friends that I had stuff to do today." I replied.
Seth simply let out a little laugh and said, "Well, at least you can do something right."
Slightly offended I stared at him, not completely sure as to how I can respond to that. Before I could figure anything out Seth started talking again.
"Come on, we need to get you your mark."
Hearing that, I released a squeal. "Does that mean?!"
"Yes, you are now officially my apprentice. You can start learning magic and be able to actually control it."
Before I could start celebrating, Seth started walking to the study, or as liked to call it the magic room. Not wanting to prolong how long it will take me to get my mark, I ran after him into the room.
After we were both in the room – which is still a mess – Seth told me to hand over my spell book. I handed it over to him, confused as to why he wanted it.
