True to her words, Maya arrived to her best friend's appartment 34 hours later.

Kanz filled her in with everything that has happened, to say Maya was outraged would be an understandable.

"That son of a bitch!" Maya swore loudly causing Kanz to wince at her choice of words.

"I will make him regret this, that piece of shit!" Maya continued as she paced around the room, "Who does he think he is? Damn him" She stopped abruptly and glanced at Kanz who was rubbing her forehead, her eyes closed.

"How are you feeling?", Maya whispered as she went to Kanz, sitting beside her on the couch, "I know it's a stupid question."

"I'm fine," Kanz replied as she looked at Maya, "Just tired."

Maya looked at her, the lack of sleep had a a visible impact on her. She had dark circles under her eyes, her face was pale and her body slouching on the couch.

"When was the last time you slept?"

"I didn't.. I couldn't" Kanz mumbled, looking away. Every time she closed her eyes, she found herself back in the cell, being tortured to say all the information she had, hearing the Ali's screams of agony as they tormented him in the next cell.

Her tears started to fall again and Maya hugged her tightly, her hand going up and down Kanz' back soothingly.

"It's going to be ok, don't worry. I'm here."

"I just want all of this to end. I can't take this anymore." Kanz stated as she tried to wipe her tears, causing more to fall.

Before Maya could reply, the doorbell rang and and they both looked at each other quizzingly.

"Are you expecting anyone?" Maya asked and Kanz shook her head in answer.

"Stay right here, I will go and check." Maya said as she stood up and started moving towards the door.

"Ms. Kanz Rashid?" a young man asked as soon as Maya opened the door. Maya looked at him, he was carrying a small medium box.

"No, her friend. How can I help you?"

"Global Guild Newspaper has assigned me to have this box delivered to Ms. Kanz." The guy said in one breath, "As far as I know, the company has dismissed her, her services are no longer required. Here are her things." The man handed the box to Maya and asked for her signature on a couple of papers.

Maya stood there dumbfounded, she looked down at the box in her hands then back at the man who wished her a nice day and went without another word.

She took a deep breath and went in, closing the door behind her. She returned to the living room to find Kanz in the same position she left her, she was staring blankly at the wall without even blinking.

Maya cleared her throat and Kanz' head snapped towards her, "Who was it?"

"A guy.." Maya paused, not knowing what to say. She went to Kanz side and sat, "He brought your things from the Newspaper."

"I knew they would do this. Not that I blame them, after the scene Giovanni caused there and me not showing up to work for the last couple of days, this is the least they could do." Kanz let out a humourless laugh, "Great, now I'm jobless."

"We can figure something up, I can ask Hasan. I am sure one of his associates__"

"No, I don't want to drag him into this, he has done enough," Kanz immediately cut Maya off and said, "I will see what I can do."
