Chapter 7: You Don't Mess With Crows

Start from the beginning

Asher: (In Head) Is that normal for this time a day? No, yes? Ehh... Probably... This is Pentagram City after all... Something blows up in this damned city at least once an hour.

[Asher looks around a bit more, he sees a clock inside of a storefront and stares at it for a second.]

Asher: And if I'm right... Something should be blowing up riiiggghhhtttt-

*Nearby Explosion*

Asher: Now. *Chuckles* Ahhh... I love that this city can maintain a constant semi-consistent schedule.

[Asher continues walking down the sidewalk, in the same direction the pickup truck went. He thinks to himself about what he just saw go down.]

Asher: (In Head) Jesus Christ... What the hell did I just watch anyways? Oh, yea... Those news anchors said that there were a bunch of crows terrorizing the city. Doing what everybody else does every other second of the day. Not sure if that's going to mess up this city's schedule or somehow improve it... Nah, definitely make things worse...

[Asher continues walking until he makes his way towards the corner, he takes a right turn and stops walking.]

Asher: Woah.

[Asher turns the corner to see the truck from before crashed into the front of a building. It's still on fire and looks to be spreading a tiny bit. The Demon who was driving the pickup seems to still be inside. Most likely dead. The crows that were attacking the car are no longer around, they seem to have left after the crash.]

Asher: Damn.

[Asher looks around at the scene. The demons on the other side of the road don't really seem to care, even the ones on Asher's side of the street just walk past the truck without much of a care.]

Asher: Wow... The people down here really take "mind your own business" a bit too seriously.

[Asher looks back towards the burning pickup.]

Asher: Huh... So I'm assuming that's what that explosion was...

[Asher walks closer towards the burning wreck, keeping an eye on the pickup truck. The driver is still motionless, and no sign of the crows.]

Asher: I know getting closer to a burning vehicle is a bad idea but my dumbass arsonist brain says " Oooooooooohhhhh! Go towards the pretty bright light!" *Chuckles*

[He continues walking towards the wreck. Still no movement from the driver, no sight of the crows either. As Asher continues to walk towards the wreck, he accidentally kicks something with his foot.]

Asher: The hell?

[Asher looks down at the ground in front of him. There's a loaf of bread in front of his foot.]

Asher: Is that... Bread?

[Asher bends down and picks up the loaf of bread, he stands back up and gets a good look at it. It's a little bit burnt but still looks surprisingly edible.]

Asher: Why the hell is there bread here? And why the hell is it burnt?

[He looks at the bread a bit more before looking up back at the truck. It's now he notices more loaves of bread around the pickup all burnt like his own.]

Asher: Ah! So that's why I smell toast. Thought I was having a seizure... *Chuckles*

[Asher looks back at the bread then back at the wreckage. He looks around again and still sees that not a single demon in the area gives a shit about the current situation.]

Asher: Should I uhh... Do something about this? Ehh... Guess I should just go with the flow and pretend I didn't see anything...

*Caw*
