And fortunately for the taxi driver, Mr. Silent didn't like to carry change in his wallet, so the price was set at five thousand crowns to the satisfaction of both parties.

The taxi driver then employed all his driving skills and successfully weaved his way through the dense Prague traffic without losing sight of the luxury Mercedes, which was crawling somewhat hesitantly on the side of the road and always almost pulling up to the pavement when a tram passed by.

Eventually this strange two-car convoy reached its destination... which Mr Silent did not like at all.

His car headed into a street, at the end of which was the house where his dreaded superior lived.

The mere recollection of Lord drowning him in a fish tank where the dead body of a poisonous snake was decomposing took away all Mr. Silent's courage and will to punish those daring criminals, regardless of his own safety.

After all, it didn't have to be right away
Why couldn't he wait for them in the next street and confront them somewhere else? After all, people lived here, how would they feel about it if a murder happened near them?

No, he'd rather settle scores with them in some uninhabited warehouse, construction site, or similar place, but not because he's a coward, it's just because he's considerate to civilists.

So Mr. Silent pressed another purple five-thousand-dollar bill into the taxi driver's hand and asked him to pull over and wait until the black Mercedes appeared in front of them again.

And what did the taxi driver do? He agreed. What else would he do?

And so, while Mr. Silent camped around the street corner, Arnošt paced restlessly around the apartment, doing something he'd never thought of in his wildest dreams before-praying that his half-crazed bodyguard with a briefcase full of deadly weapons would come soon and relieve him of the disgusting, stinking corpse that lay in the middle of his neighbor's living room.

And for the first time in his life, fortune favored him and fate decided to give him at least that terrifying sociopath with the dangerous briefcase.

As soon as he heard a knock on the door, Arnošt stomped into the hallway, opened the door without hesitation and almost hugged Láďa with happiness.

"He's lying in the middle of the living room. There's a lot of blood everywhere... can you handle it?"

"Da. No problem." Láďa replied, as if it was just another day at work, no different from the others... because it really was just another day at work for him.

Just another day. Just another job. Just another dead body.

But when he saw the body sprawled under the fish tank where the piranhas were swimming, and his suspicions were confirmed, even the confident, composed Láďa was momentarily speechless with shock.

It was strange to see the one who had nearly drowned him several times in the fishbowl so brutally murdered.

Lord's face may have been rather destroyed, but Láďa could never forget the hands that had held his neck and pushed his head under the water so many times.

But that was a long time ago... four years ago, to be exact. Now he had a job here, what was the point of remembering his old employer?

So Láďa turned to Arnošt with his unchanging calm expression and said: "Consider it settled. You can forget the whole affair; I will see to it that the rest of the world forgets this man. You may go, and in the meantime I will..."

Láďa, however, did not finish his sentence, for just then Lola came rushing into the room with a smoking joint between her teeth and exclaimed: "Arnošt! Honey, how nice to see you again!"

"Damn it, Lola! Didn't I tell you to wait in the hallway!" Láďa said angrily. For several long years nothing and no one could make him as angry as this woman. In a way, he found that attractive... but now he was busy and had no time to deal with her nonsense!

"I ain't no dog, dude! I'm not waiting in the hallway hoping you'll pick me up again!" Lola snapped, staggering a little unsteadily up to Arnošt.

Half out of breath, she clinged onto his neck and whispered: "I'm so glad to see you... my bodyguard is mean to me... but you're going to help me, aren't you?"

"Lola," Arnošt said annoyed. "You're completely high."

"Maybe a little..." giggled Lola.

"And you do realize that we have a meeting with investors in about an hour and a half, and you need to be there… and you need to be conscious?" Arnošt said patiently, though he knew his words would do nothing. Now it was just a matter of not losing face and not coming out of this situation looking like a complete loser.

"I know..." whimpered Lola, turning a guilty look towards Arnošt. "I've been a naughty... very naughty girl. Will you punish me?"

"Yes, I will." Arnošt said with a sigh. "I'll make you sit at the meeting with investors for two hours. Let's go. Move! I don't have a car so we have to take the subway and if we want to be there on time we should leave now."

With those words, Arnošt pushed Lola out of the room, mentally thanking all the deities that Lola was too drugged to notice Lord's corpse.

Then he threw another glance at Láďa, who was already opening his mysterious briefcase, and said wearily, "When you're done here, come to the address where you were originally supposed to take Lola, it's a tall glass building, we'll be in the conference room on the tenth floor, the secretary will show you. I'll need you to take Lola back later. I don't have the nerves for her..."

"Of course..." Láďa said thoughtfully, not looking away from Lord's corpse.

"Fine." Arnošt replied worriedly, closing the door behind him.

He definitely didn't need to see what was going to happen there now.
