By now it was about 7:00 in the morning. The three of them were completely exhausted, but they just had to go through with it. They were in the middle of the beautiful plains of Scotland when Frida suddenly stopped.
Erik also stopped and gave Frida a suspicious but concerned look. "What's wrong? Why have we stopped?" asked the girl riding the exhausted mare.

Erik looked deep into Frida's black eyes before answering the little girl.
"She's going to give birth," he said quickly. He stretched out his arms to the little girl. Just before he was about to carry her off Frida's back, a black baby horse slipped out of the mare.
The foal struggled to stand up straight as his brand new legs wouldn't stop shaking. After a few failed attempts, the foal not only stood upright but also began to gallop.

Fire's eyes filled with bliss when she saw the black foal. Frida gave birth to it while she was riding her; this gave the little girl a special feeling.
Erik patted Frida's side and a wide grin danced on his lips.
"My strong Frida," he murmured to his mare. The green-eyed girl leaned on Frida's back and wrapped her small arms around her thick neck. "My strong Frida," she repeated Erik's words in a whisper. Erik heard the little girl's whisper and gave her a big smile. "From now on, this is your horse Fire." Fire's eyes shot to Erik. "Really?!" she asked excitedly. "Yes, of course. What're you going to name him, Sunflower?"

Fire stared at the little horse for a moment before looking at Erik with her big, twinkling eyes and giving him her answer. "Freedom... I'm going to name him Freedom."
