058. "she is gone but she used to be mine"

One woman caught her eyes. Lucia immediately stared down at the image with a silent rage; the woman in the newsletter had her face leapt out at them the moment they had seen the page. She had long, dark hair that looked unkempt and straggly in the picture, though he had seen it sleek, thick, and shining. She glared up at him through heavily lidded eyes, an arrogant, disdainful smile playing around her thin mouth. Like Sirius, she retained vestiges of great good looks, but something — perhaps Azkaban — had taken most of her beauty.

Bellatrix Lestrange, convicted of the torture and permanent incapacitation of Frank and Alice Longbottom. And not further from her was an image of a man with the legend, Rudolphus Lestrange.

Of course they would put the maniac husband and wife in the same page, Lucia thought. She then squinted her eyes, reading further. Along with wife, Bellatrix Lestrange, convicted for the slaughter of the prestige young head of the Italian wizarding DiFiore family, Florian DiFiore, that left the Wizarding world scarred by just how brutal the homicide was, following the murder of his mother-in-law and the incapacitation of his wife, Rose Lim, a few years after his death.

Lucia stared deadly down at the photo of the man as he cackled soundlessly to them, disregarding the stares she was receiving from her friends. The man in the newsletter stared back at her mockingly, and it took her everything to not burn that page. Her eyes were engraved with crazed fury, something had left alone in the archive of her mind a long time ago.

There was a burning sensation in her heart; she craved for the justice of her family that was not handed to her... to her mum... to her family properly. There were no sorts of assurance of her father's death, and those lines that were printed on the newsletter showed just how much they had downplayed his death when they informed her family. Slaughter? They weren't told that, but was told it was a quick death.

She clenched her fist together. She knew bloody well that this won't be the last she would see the murderer of her family's happiness. Worse, it could be in real life...

"Voldemort's most devoted followers out of Azkaban?" Lucia scowled, playing with her porridge. "Never saw that coming."

Harry winced, detecting the sardonic tone in her voice before he turned to Hermione who nudged him and pointed at the headline over the pictures, which Harry, concentrating on Bellatrix, had not yet read.

MASS BREAKOUT FROM AZKABAN MINISTRY FEARS BLACK IS "RALLYING POINT" FOR OLD DEATH EATERS

"Black?" said Harry loudly. "Not — ?"

"Shhh!" whispered Hermione desperately. "Not so loud — just read it!"

The Ministry of Magic announced late last night that there has been a mass breakout from Azkaban.

Speaking to reporters in his private office, Cornelius Fudge, Minister of Magic, confirmed that ten high-security prisoners escaped in the early hours of yesterday evening, and that he has already informed the Muggle Prime Minister of the dangerous nature of these individuals.

"We find ourselves, most unfortunately, in the same position we were two and a half years ago when the murderer Sirius Black escaped," said Fudge last night. "Nor do we think the two breakouts are unrelated. An escape of this magnitude suggests outside help, and we must remember that Black, as the first person ever to break out of Azkaban, would be ideally placed to help others follow in his footsteps. We think it likely that these individuals, who include Black's cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange, have rallied around Black as their leader. We are, however, doing all we can to round up the criminals and beg the magical community to remain alert and cautious. On no account should any of these individuals be approached."
