1. Talia Enevuer
The leader of a small but relatively influential underground group that was headquartered in Bargenvine, a remote area within Blesridge, a city of Andler. She inherited the group from her father, the founder. But her inheritance did not happen without any struggle.
The former leader - her father - was a man drunk of power. He had many mistresses and children but never spent any proper time with any of them. Perhaps for the sole purpose of his own sick entertainment, he held a battle of the throne, in which all of his children were forced to participate. Although it was nonsensical, many, especially the children of higher rank, had no problem with it. Perhaps, their lunacy ran through genes. For the others, however, it was almost apparent that it was a massacre; a one-sided battle, and a desperate fight for survival. During the battles, it wasn’t rare for a child to die or at least got crippled. But a few also managed to survive, and Talia was one of them. The more she climbed, the more danger she had to face, even more as she was a child of lower rank, whom the higher-ranked saw as an ugly bug. At the end of her final fight, she also killed her father.
Due to her encounters during those times, she progressively grew ruthless and untrusting, although she had a somewhat soft spot for her fellow low-born, which was why many others supported her reign, as well as one of the driving factors behind many future betrayal attempts at her.
2. Rebas Taroufh
Andarea was a province within Khadrea, a country near the mountains that had just recently gone under the wing of Ar’nan Democracy. Due to Andarea's history, despite having only produced a few international chess players, the game had been popular among most, and its popularity stretched beyond even the poorer cities.
Rebas was one of those players. A 25 year old hobbyist chess player and an occasional chess hustler. Born to a rather financially struggling family as the second eldest of 6 children - 4 of which are girls, he was forced to drop out from high school to earn money. Every day, He would travel early in the morning for various labor jobs until late at night. However, that was until he made the game he learnt from his parents, his part-time career.
Each day, after helping out neighbors, he would go around his neighborhood to offer to play chess. That was also how he came to meet Kavari Olev, a Terrioran venturing scholar.
It was a secret only a few knew, but Rebas had only beaten his older sister twice, both of which ended in fluke.
3. Aya Karinez
She was a commoner, born without any talent whatsoever and lived not standing out. She was born into a commoner family, which was barely on the top half of the poverty line in Arvadelz, a small country remote as well as a member of the Parlev Continent. Her father was alcoholic and abusive, and her mother, afraid that his husband would leave her, would lash her own insecurity at her. At school, she barely stood out - almost to the point where she might as well be invisible. At times, her classmates wouldn’t notice her presence. Due to her economic situation, too, she would more than often have difficulties joining in her peers’ conversations. During her 3rd year of middle school, she decided to finally run away from her house. Of course, it was hard at first. To seek shelter, to find income, to be independently stable. Since she had no other identification other than her student card, she often faced troubles, and on many occasions, she went through ways that were sometimes illegal. Desiring freedom and wanting to see the world, she would usually move from place to place after some time.
4. Hyvar Anderone
The only daughter of the Anderone family, one of the lower noble families within Sern, a nation led by a representative king, with its internal matters done by the government ambassadors from another country, due to their defeat in a far past war. She was a kind and understanding child. However, through a certain misfortune falling upon the family, she became the only survivor and living proof of the Anderone’s existence. A few days after the tragedy, she allegedly disappeared out of nowhere and had not been found anywhere ever since.
