Chapter 7: Crush

" You should just date her already. "

" What's with that sudden statement! "

" I think you both look good together. "

I never knew Minju would make bold statements such as this. However, it made me ponder about what she said. Is this the right time to confess to Chaewon? Will I ever get a chance like this again? Various questions kept rushing into my head which gave me a headache.

" Are you okay, Y/N? "

" Yeah, i'm just thinking about something. "

" Don't rush, Y/N. "

Despite nodding to what Minju just said, I kept worrying about our future. I did not want to ruin our friendship but I keep falling for Chaewon every time I see her. I need to get my feelings sorted out soon. I finished up the coffee and proceeded to wear my clothes for the day.

I wore my jordans to match with Minju and Chaewon. The three of us left my apartment to head for our morning classes. I'm glad that the university is within walking distance. I won't have to spend Yena's allowance money for public transport.

" It feels more lively with Ssamu! "

" Yeah, it sure is. "

" What do you mean? "

We explained how livelier with her presence. It felt more lonelier when it was just me and Minju. Upon talking for minutes, we have already arrived at our university. We then proceeded to class and sat beside each other.

" Can it be the weekends already? "

" We literally just sat down, Minju. "

" Please let me complain, Y/N! "

She said that in a joking manner. I chuckled and took out my study materials for the day. My motivation has significantly increased with Chaewon being beside me. She tapped my shoulder to say something.

" What's with the enthusiasm? "

" Oh, it's nothing. "

" I'll help you if you don't understand, okay? "

I nodded my head and listened in class. I can't wait for lunch break. My stomach was grumbling. Hopefully none of them heard that.

" Finally, let's get lunch together! "

" You're awfully excited, Y/N. "

" I'm hungry as well. "

Minju and I dragged Chaewon along to get food together. We searched for an empty area so that the three of us could have lunch. Upon sitting down, Chaewon patted my stomach. I was puzzled by her actions.

" Your stomach was really loud during the lecture, Y/N. "

" I knew it... "

" I understand your pain, Y/N. "

Minju and I did our secret handshake in agreement. Chaewon was in awe when she saw what we just did. Her eyes were sparkling. It was as if the stars were residing in her eyes.

" You wanna make our own handshake, Chaewon? "

" Yes please! "

The three of us were having the time of our lives. We ate our lunch together and talked about our future plans as a trio. We even made a list of the things we wanted to do as a group. I even made a handshake that is only shared between me and Chaewon. Minju made her own handshake for the both of them as well. She felt accomplished and we shared laughters among each other afterwards.

" It's almost summer. "

" That's the best time for me to have shaved ice. "

" Ooh, I like that. "

The both of them wanted to go shopping after school. Summer is like two weeks away. I wonder what's with the rush to buy things? I'll just go along with their plans since I broke my sunglasses. I should text Yena about our plans as well. She gave me an energetic response. I can feel her excitement from here.

" My older sister wants to join us."

" That's even better! "

They were cheering when I said that. We then went back to class after planning. Luckily, this was going to be our last lesson for the day. Therefore, Minju and Chaewon were more motivated than before. They really love to go shopping, huh.

The last lesson of the day felt like ages. Regardless, we brisked walked out of school to go to find a shop with beach items. We just wanted to be out of the proximity of the school. Our brains were overloaded with information. I'm slowly getting used to it though.

" Let's get the important ones first. "

" Sure! "

The both of them said it at the same time. It's like their minds are somehow connected. I laughed at their response and they gave me a puzzled look. I assured them that it was nothing and we went to find the shop by the beach. We eventually found the shop after a few minutes of searching.

" Let's get the volleyball! "

" Did you forget about what I said? "

" Sorry, Y/N. "

Minju kept apologising and I had to stop her. I patted her head saying that she should stop apologising. She eventually stopped and bought sunscreen and sunglasses. Chaewon did the same and also bought a shirt for herself. She suddenly offered a pair of sunglasses to me.

" I think this would look good on you, Y/N! "

" You think so? "

I tried it on and looked at the small mirror on my left. I looked like I came out of a movie. Chaewon laughed at my face and pulled out her phone to take a picture. She did that so efficiently that I had no time to respond.

" I'll get this since you offered it to me, Chaewon. "

" You don't have to get it, you know. "

" You said I would look good in these sunglasses. "

Her face suddenly turned red after I said that. I put my palms on her forehead to check if she was ill. She doesn't have a fever but her cheeks were really warm when I held it.

" Are you two gonna kiss? "

" No! "

The both of us gave the same response. Minju had that mischevious look on her face. She laughed it off and texted someone on her phone. I told them to put the things on the payment counter and they rushed to put the pile on the counter itself. I paid for it and we were more than prepared for the summer break.

" Now we won't have to worry anymore. "

" Yeah! "

" Let's go home. "

We took our time walking back to my apartment. I'm surprised that we were able to arrive at my apartment after 30 minutes of walking. Minju went back to her apartment as it was only the first day of the week. She wanted to have as much rest as she could.

" I wanna sleep so badly... "

" Same here. "

Chaewon and I agreed to just sleep. As usual, I took a picture of the night skies and immediately jumped onto my bed. It was exhausting. My eyelids were getting heavier as I kept blinking. I eventually closed my eyes and fell asleep.
