"i thought you took pictures of the fridge?"
"well, yeah, but that doesn't mean i know what goes in it!"
kun rubbed his forehead as the girls continued arguing about food. when he was invited to go shopping, he didn't think that meant babysitting two adults while doing all their shopping.
he huffed a sigh and threw some sponges and dish gloves into the cart, knowing full and well soojin wouldn't buy those on her own. "children. i'm shopping with children."
"meat! we need meat."
"do you know how to cook it?"
"... rice!"
the two walked ahead after getting scolded by kun for the third time. he'd had enough and decided to "just do it by himself", leaving the girls to shop.
sighing, soojin stuffed her hands in her back pockets and glanced up at the blonde. "be honest. how do you feel about sakura recently?"
"honestly?" frankie repeated, keeping her gaze on her feet as she shrugged. "it was pretty shitty to ditch you for someone like hyohei then say nothing when you were slandered with cheating allegations. dating your somewhat-ex is the cherry on top."
"so you're not over it."
"nope. and it isn't even my life." frankie sighed, "they should have told you. we should have."
soojin nodded, staying quiet. she didn't want to lose her best friend. she didn't want to lose her 96% soulmate. but when she remembers how easily they were swayed to the dark side, she can't help but feel her heart clench.
"i don't know why i feel bad when it isn't my fault. i mean, i could have tried harder to stay in contact but... you get why i should have trust issues, right?"
frankie snorted, "girl, i'm still so surprised you're willing to trust so easily. my guard is so high up i can't see the top."
"as it should be. you deserve the best of the best." the ravenette said, smiling up at her friend. cooing aloud, frankie threw both arms around her short friend, squeezing her hard. "you better believe me when i say you deserve the same."
and though she couldn't force herself to agree, soojin truly believed that frankie meant it.
