I stood up to fake turning off a camera and took that moment to try and calm myself. It was starting to feel ever so slightly, just a little bit familiar. Not the video thing, but the whole flinging insults back and forth.
ME AS ALYSSA (Cont.):
What the hell was that Colton? I have a boyfriend! What are y-
KADEN AS COLTON:
He's cheating on you.
ME AS ALYSSA:
What? No. No. He's not.
KADEN AS COLTON:
With your best friend.
ME AS ALYSSA:
Oh, Keera? The one who's dating your best friend?
KADEN AS COLTON:
Not Keera. The other one. The blonde one.
ME AS ALYSSA:
I don't have another best friend. If you're talking about close friends, you'll have to be more specific.
KADEN AS COLTON:
The one with gray eyes? Kind of tall? Talks really quietly?
ME AS ALYSSA:
Ashlie? She's a client. She wants me to match her up with someone.
I pulled out all the stops and did my best to give off a confused feel. Yeah, it was my old best friend's movie, but I couldn't let that make me not do it. I mean, I wasn't exactly jumping at the thought, because while I was happy to see Kallie again, I was still unsure if she was mad at me or not.
Kaden shrugged and looked me dead in the eye. Crap. This is about to get awkward.
KADEN AS COLTON:
She's still the one doing your boyfriend.
ME AS ALYSSA:
Why should I believe you?
KADEN AS COLTON:
I've seen them. And I know how people cheating act.
I'll admit, I looked away. I know, it's bad, and it probably just turned down the intensity by, like, ten notches, but do you know how awkward it is having the guy who cheated on you tell you he knows how someone cheating acts while staring you in the eye?
ME AS ALYSSA:
From all the times you've done it to someone?
KADEN AS COLTON:
*coldly* Yeah, sure, sweetheart, from all the times I've done it to someone.
ME AS ALYSSA:
Why do you care?
KADEN AS COLTON:
It'd be such a shame if it got out that the matchmaker was being cheated on.
ME AS ALYSSA:
Like you're one to care about my rep.
KADEN AS COLTON:
Must I have a reason? I can't just help a friend?
ME AS ALYSSA:
I would hardly call us friends. Really, what's your reason?
KADEN AS COLTON:
Maybe I just wanted you to know.
ME AS ALYSSA:
Or maybe you're just trying to ruin my relationship. Wouldn't be the first time you've done it.
KADEN AS COLTON:
Oh really? Enlighten me, Sweetheart, when have I ruined someone's relationship?
ME AS ALYSSA:
Do you know how many girls come to me asking me to get them back together with their boyfriend? Who they broke up with to date you, since you flirted with them? Only to find out all you wanted was a one night stand?
KADEN AS COLTON:
Interesting. But trust me, I have better things to do than ruin your perfect little relationship.
ME AS ALYSSA:
I'm not gonna believe you if you don't give me a reason.
KADEN AS COLTON:
I guess you won't be believing it then.
ME AS ALYSSA:
You know, if you weren't who you were, I'd think that-
KADEN AS COLTON:

ME AS ALYSSA:
Course not. You're Colton Walker. You don't do 'liking'.
KADEN AS COLTON:
You shouldn't believe all the stories you hear.
ME AS ALYSSA:

KADEN AS COLTON:
Maybe not all. But you don't know the whole story.
ME AS ALYSSA:
Oh, enlighten me.
KADEN AS COLTON:

ME AS ALYSSA:

KADEN AS COLTON:

ME AS ALYSSA:
I doubt a science experiment made you like that.
KADEN AS COLTON:
