Katherine looked up from the mirror she was using on her lap to do her eye shadow, “I think mom used in on her eyes?”

 

“Oh,” Elena replied, setting the tube down beside her and began rummaging through their mother’s makeup bag, pulling out the next thing she found.

 

Katherine snatched the lipstick out of her twin’s hands, “That’s my one!”

 

“But it’s mom’s favourite?!”

 

“I’m not going to use that much!”

“Fine!”

 

Katherine smeared the lipstick over her top and then her bottom lip. It was defiantly a work of art.

 

“Do you want me to do your eyes like mine?”  Katherine asked her younger twin

 

“Please,” Elena rummaged through the bag once more lifting out another eye shadow palette but of a lighter shade, “How about in this colour?”

 

“Okay, just sit in front of me,” Katherine ordered, pointing to the spot ahead of her

 

“Stop moving so much! You’re messing it up!” she complained

 

“Ssh...You’ll wake Jer up!” Elena chastised

 

“Stop talking, then!”

 

“Fine!”

 

That was what Miranda Gilbert walked into; two little girls wanting to be proper grown-ups.

“It must be fun to have a sister,” Rebekah told Elena once Katherine went for a shower. Caroline and Bonnie were at the opposite side of the room blow-drying their hair and gossiping together.

“It has its ups and down but in the end I don’t think I’d survive without her. But if I could I’d swap her for a slightly less bitchier version,” Elena laughed

“I always wanted a sister but instead I got four brothers,” she sighed

“Don’t you get on with your brothers?”

“I do. It’s just sometimes I feel like I can’t go to them for advice especially if it involves boys. Nik would threaten whoever I brought over and Kol would tease me endlessly,” she paused for a second, “whereas ‘Lijah would take the more subtle approach and at least try to remain polite.”

“And what about your other brother?” Elena questioned, suddenly intrigued by the Mikaelson family

“Finn?” Elena nodded. “Finn and I aren’t as close compared to the rest of us, he keeps to himself. I don’t really see him that much anymore, he moved out when he turned 19 and now he’s married to a witch of a woman named Sage,” she explained
