Shaking my head lightly, I chose to rid myself of my troublesome thoughts for the time being, all on my own accord as well. If I had anything left of myself, at least it was free-will to think, or not think, about anything I wanted.

Leaves crunched under my bare feet as I hadn't been able to take the time to trek back through the woods and grab the discarded footwear as I started on the path to the mansion.

I had finally reached the half-way mark when I heard soft, shaky breathing somewhere in near distance from me.

Somebody else was here.

And that somebody was most definitely human.

"..I'll fucking rip her to shreds,"

Tim's voice rang out amongst the otherwise silent forest, and upon hearing his declaration, I stopped short and inhaled deeply.

A single blade of grass, stained with the salty tear of a human. Freshly upturned earth, caused by the frantic step of a victim being chased. The rapid, irregular heartbeat of someone who very obviously hadn't been chased by serial killers before. And, finally, the jagged, sharp, shaky breaths of someone who was covering their mouth with their hand, trying not to scream in absolute terror.

The invigorating scent of fear swirled in my nostrils as I exhaled, gaze darting to the exact location of the girl.

Though my vision was very spotty, and it was exceptionally hard to make out the fine details in regards to someone appearance, I noticed her shaking form crouched just behind a rather thick tree, her hand over her mouth as she seemed to be silently praying to whoever was listening.

Then, she did something rather unexpected from a victim being chased by Tim and most likely Brian; she tossed her weapon to the side of her and stood on trembling legs.

I raised an eyebrow quizzically, shaking my head with a smirk plastering my face.

This new generation of humans was quite intriguing, to say the very least. First, it was (Name) being able to quell the murderous instinct of all serial killers who were unlucky enough to find themselves around her for any length of time, and now, some girl who had just been chased after was dropping her weapon and acting as if she was going to surrender.

I snapped my head toward the sound of barreling footsteps heading directly toward me to be met with the exasperated and unmasked face of Tim, followed shortly by the hooded and masked Brian.

"Oh my God, Jack, absolutely perfect fucking timing,"

He keeled over, his hands on his knees as he took a single deep breath in, standing again shortly after exhaling.

"What the fuck are you waiting for? Use your spidey-senses or whatever the fuck you have and tell me where that little bitch is,"

I shot a confused look at Brian, gesturing my pointer finger toward Tim in a silent way of asking 'who does he think he's talking to?'.

"She has a gun, and she attempted to shoot me,"

I nodded, satisfied with Brian's explanation, and let a quick 'ahh,' escape me before directing my still-outstretched finger toward the tree that the girl had stood from.

Tim followed my finger, and once he saw that the girl was standing and making her way over toward where the three of us stood, he bolted in her direction.

I'd have no choice but to watch this play through since Tim was the one I had been originally seeking anyway; it would provide some entertainment at the very least while I waited to have my discussion with him.
