Swallowing darkness encased an ever shrinking group of masked individuals chanting "Rise".

"May he lead us to an everlasting paradise. May Jack's sacrifice be enough for us to prove ourselves to our cherished God. All hail Chernabog. Rise, rise, rise!"

The body below the chanting group began to stir, the pale gray hands twitching.

"He is awake. Silence!"

And it indeed fell silent over the group as they watched the man come back from death.

"None of you are deserving of this paradise in which you seek,"

His voice was bone-chilling. As if an angel and a demon had birthed a child. Smooth and assertive, yet chilling with a twinge of something inhuman. The group didn't seem phased by the way he dragged his hand along the table as he propped himself into a crouching position. Long black nails scraped against the table beneath him and left deep scratch marks along the wood.

A voice, feminine in nature let out a giggle.

"He's awake! Godliness suits you, Jack," She sounded pleased with herself, and impressed at what they had done. His face shot in the direction of her, though it took an adjustment for his eyes to be locked with hers.

His face became clearer and clearer, as if a once-blurring fog was slowly lifting from his features.

Except, he didn't have eyes.

Deep, empty sockets dominated his once-handsome features, dried blood formed what looked like tears streaking down his ash-gray skin. There was a texture of hardness to where his eyes should have been, almost as if a wax or a sort of tar had been poured into the sockets.

"You took my eyes, and now I reap your souls,"

My heart pounded in my chest as my eyes shot open, fear engraved deeply into every fiber of my being.

What the fuck was that? It wasn't the first time I had had that exact nightmare, but never in such incredible detail. I felt as if I had seen the man on the table before, but I just couldn't place him. As my blood pressure fell from a medically-alarming rate, I took in my surroundings.

Fear took over my body once again as I trembled in my new surroundings. If my heart took any more damage from fear, I was sure I'd go into a cardiac arrest.

These walls were not that of my house, nor the floor, nor the bed I laid upon.

Cabin-like walls encased me, not a window in sight. The flooring was wooden as well, but a more polished and vinyl-looking wood.

I made small movements to sit upright, but a sharp, searing pain rang through my entire skull, then  finally down through my neck as I tried to look around.

Abruptly, it all set in. A masked man had broken into my home and we got into an altercation, officer Neil handed over my laptop to said masked man without offering a shred of help, and finally, I got punched in the face. By a masked man. Who handcuffed me to himself.

I meticulously paned my head to glance at my wrist. It was deeply bruised and scratched, but void of the handcuff.

Adrenaline must have overtook me as I stood, scouring the room for a way out. There had to be something.

No windows, so I couldn't try for the good ole' 'escape-out-the-window' trick. The door was composed of a hard metal of sorts, and lacked an inside lock. The handle was rounded and smooth, not even an indication that there would be any way to try and unlock it from the inside.
