Vina's POV
Stepping out of my exam class, a feeling akin to dread is swirling in my chest. I couldn't even concentrate properly as I wrote my test because I became more and more anxious as the time for Nasir and I to talk drew nearer.

My conversation with Kiki this morning when I had asked for where the school garden is plays in my mind.

"Where is the school garden?" I suddenly ask as I read with Kiki.

"What?" She questions, looking confused.

"The school garden. Please where is it?"

"Why are you asking?"

I quickly think of a lie,"Uhm . . . I heard there is a garden in the school so I want to see it."

She eyes me suspiciously before brushing it off and speaking,"We will go together after the test."

"There's no need for that. I want to go on my own." I rush out and follow it up with a smile.

"You are acting weird."

"Because I want to see the school garden?"

She breathes out, hands running over her face,"You know what I mean."

"Please nau. Just tell me where the garden is."

Kiki stays silent for so long that I feel she wouldn't answer me until she finally speaks,"It's behind the building where the basketball court is."

"Thank you."

She doesn't answer but instead, continues with her reading.

I am brought back to the present when someone bumps into my right shoulder from behind.

Looking up, I see Zacharia walking away.

"Zacharia," I call out as she turns to face me with questioning eyes,"You bumped into me."

"Oh, I'm so sorry. My mind wasn't here." She rushes out.

"It's okay." I say,"Where are you off to though?"

"The infirmary."

"I hope it's nothing too serious."

"It's nothing serious." She laughs a little,"It's just headache. The further maths test was something else."

"Abi o." I agree with her,"But sorry about your headache."

"Thank you." She says with a smile before hurrying along.

I reach the building where the basketball court is. So, I go behind it.

The area is boarded by a picket fence. I can clearly see it is divided into sections where flowers and vegetables grow. Benches and round tables carved out of stone are arranged in each corner of the rectangular space.

I sight Nasir seated on a stone bench diagonally opposite from where I am. Taking in a deep breath to gather myself, I go over to where he is.

As I get closer, I notice he is typing furiously at his phone. His beautiful face is twisted in annoyance and I wonder what could have gotten him so worked up.

I sit down quietly on the bench opposite him. He hasn't noticed me but instead groans in frustration at whatever is on his phone.

"N — Nasir?"
