As Dream sat in the passenger seat of Sapnap's car, he looked out the window, constantly, watching the trees pass by. He felt the excitement grow in him more and more as more minutes passed by, but he wasn't going to admit that out loud.
He could feel Sapnap looking over at him occasionally, smiling as he did. Dream didn't mind though, he knew his best friend was just happy to see him in a new scenery for the first time in a long time.
"Oh, by the way, we're meeting my friends here." Sapnap declared, giving Dream a hesitant look. He didn't want to mention it to Dream while they were at the house, Sapnap knew he wouldn't have come if he brought it up.
"Is this the infamous Karl and Quackity I hear so much about?" Dream questioned. About 4 months ago, Sapnap had rediscovered his love for skateboarding. Since Dream was in his own prison at home, Sapnap would go to the skatepark alone.
That is when he met Karl. He noticed the curly haired boy skating alone as well, and debated to himself whether or not he should invite him to skate. Eventually Sapnap built up the courage to invite him to skate.
Sapnap thought it was going to be awkward, two strangers skating, nothing to talk about, but Karl seemed very outgoing, something Sapnap was thankful for. The whole day Sapnap and Karl talked about video games, movies, their childhood, and everything and anything they could talk about. If someone didn't know they were strangers that met today, you'd assume they had been best friends for years, they just clicked instantly.
Eventually, Karl brought Quackity along. Sapnap trusted Karl, and trusted that Quackity was just like Karl. Within five minutes of talking to Quackity, Sapnap was right. All three of them clicked, and they became inseparable. They would get in small amounts of trouble, but they were okay with it, it gave them a lifetime of memories to reminisce about later down the road.
"Yeah it is." Sapnap replied, gripping his hands a little tighter around the steering wheel. Dream watched him grip it, knowing that he was nervous about Dream's response. Before Dream had time to reassure him, Sapnap spoke up. "But, if you're not okay with hanging out with a bunch of people, I can tell them we just want to be alone."
As much as that pleased Dream to hear and wanted to take that proposal, he took a minute to rethink. He wanted to start a new chapter in his life, he wanted to stop self loathing in the comfort of his own room. He wanted to meet new people, test his limits, and go out into the world more. He couldn't deny how happy he was to be outside of his rooms all too familiar walls.
"It's okay Nick." Dream replied , lightly laughing. "I want to change starting now." Sapnap glanced over at his best friend with confusion. He wasn't sure if this is the same person he was talking to this morning. The guy who wanted to stay in his room and play video games and never come out of hiding, just like everyday for the past few months.
"What made you change your mind?" Sapnap questioned, turning into the parking lot of the carnival. Dream looked out the window once again, the cool wind hitting his face and running through his dirty blonde hair.
"Honestly being back out in the world again, and not being confined to the four walls of my room, feels really fucking nice." Dream stated, smiling at his own words.
"Well then" Sapnap smiled, putting the car in park. "Let's have some fun."

As Dream walked into the carnival with Sapnap, he was greeted by flashing lights, and people running to get in line for the rides. He was amazed at himself for staying cooped up for so long when they're amazing things like this in the world to enjoy.
Sapnap guided them to the front desk where they received their wristbands for the rides. Deep down as much as Dream loved being here, he did feel a bit overwhelmed by the big crowd. He hadn't been out in the public eye in months, and he felt like everyone was staring at him.
Dream could feel his heart beating faster and faster by the minute, and his breathing was getting harder to do. He knew he was having a small panic attack, but he didn't want to bother Sapnap.
"Sapnap!" Someone called from a distance. Dream looked in the direction of the noise. He noticed one tall guy and one short guy walking their way. Dream stood there in confusion, looking at them, then back at Sapnap.
Then it clicked in Dreams head. This is Karl and Quackity. He felt his breathing slowly go back to normal, the closer they approached them. The tall guy had nice curly brown hair, and his nails were painted various colors. The short guy had long dark hair, and wore a black beanie.
A part of Dream was jealous of the two guys. They have spent most of their time with Sapnap the past few months, and Dream felt like he was hardly close with his best friend anymore. As much as he wanted to tell Sapnap how he felt, he never could. It was his own fault for never leaving his house and not spending time with him.
"Karl! Quackity!" Sapnap exclaimed, pulling Karl into a hug first, then Quackity. Dream watched as the three boys gathered together, laughing and greeting one another. Sapnap turned his attention to Dream, who just stood there awkwardly.
"Guys, this Dream, my best friend and roommate." Sapnap declared. Dream held out his hand for a proper shake, but instead, Karl pulled him into a giant hug. Dream was thrown off guard by how welcoming he was, but he appreciated it.
"Hey man, I'm Karl, nice to meet you." He announced, releasing Dream from the hug. Dream didn't say much, he only smiled at both of them, he was too socially shy to open up within the first five minutes of meeting someone.
"We have another friend coming." Quackity added. He was looking around, probably in an attempt to find their friend. Dream looked around fondly too, not knowing who he's supposed to be looking for.
"Sorry guys, I'm here." A tall British man jogged up to them. Dream stood there looking at the British man, he was shocked by the man's looks, he was pretty, probably the prettiest man Dream has ever seen. "I saw some cotton candy and I couldn't help myself."
Dream let out a little giggle, looking down at his feet before looking back up at the British man, who was looking back at him. Dream could feel his stomach turn, he didn't know why he was acting this way. Obviously he knew why, he was bi, but he hadn't told anyone, not even Sapnap, but no man he's come across has had this effect on him.
Something about the British boy stuck out to Dream, maybe it was the fact that he hadn't been outside in months, and he was surrounded by three new men, one of which was really attractive.
"I'm George by the way, nice to meet you guys." He said, shaking hands with Sapnap. Dream looked at the ground, slightly looking up to stare at George. He could feel George looking at him, waiting for him to introduce himself, but Dream was at a loss of words. "And you are?"
Dream lifted his head, his full attention to George, who was smiling slightly. George knew he was shy, and didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable whatsoever. Dream admired that, and it made him even more attracted to George.
"I'm uh." Dream began, he had a lump in his throat that he managed to clear after speaking. "I'm Dream."
