nini sat on gina's bed, the white fluffy blanket draped over her knees that were up to her chest as she bit her nails nervously and stared at her phone that was resting behind her.
"hey, neens, we brought breakfast—what's wrong?" gina was saying until she noticed her friend
nini said nothing and just pointed to her phone and gina raised her eyebrows
"is it gonna explode?" gina asked cautiously, to which nini replied with a 'come on,' look. so, gina made her way to sit next to nini and take the phone to see what was up "ricky sent you a text?"
nini nodded "...the notification's just been there...all morning..." she said in a small voice "what do i do?"
"answer it?" gina suggested with a kind smile "maybe he wants to fix things? maybe he's decided to get his memory back?"
nini shook her head "i don't want that false hope."
gina sighed and took ahold of the brunette girl's hand comfortingly "neens, i know you're scared. i know you're hurt more than ways anyone can imagine...but how are you going to move forward if you don't take the first step?"
"i don't want to move forward!" nini exclaimed helplessly "i want to go back! i want things to go back to the way they used to be."
"and they can. but not by turning back time. by pushing through and seizing the opportunities that come your way. and this is one."
nini sighed and continued to bite her nails before gina placed the phone in her free hand and stood up from the bed
"text him back." she told the girl before leaving the room.
nini stared down at her lock screen and exhaled shakily, opening it up to reply to the curly-haired man.
