prologue

"hm hm hm," the curly-haired man drawled as he moved his hand around the open box of chocolates, his girlfriend seated in front of him and watching in amusement

"okay, babe-"

"i have to have the time to take care of my very wise choices." he interrupted her quickly "i'm like yoda. i know all." he said dramatically in a whisper, making the girl laugh

ricky reached for a white chocolate that had little peanuts on top, holding it up in front of him to examine before taking a deep breath and putting it in his mouth

nini raised an eyebrow, leaning her chin on the palm of her hand in anticipation as she waited for his reaction before she snorted a laugh

"not good?" she asked

her answer was given when he had his eyes closed tightly in disgust, him stopping mid-chew and nini brought her hands to her mouth to stop herself from laughing too hard

"i do not like that one." he gagged, forcing himself to swallow it as his girlfriend giggled in amusement

"okay! my turn." she beamed, looking down and waving her hand around the opened box before resting her fingers on one "this one-"

"actually...choose this one." ricky said suddenly, pointing at a chocolate in the middle

nini furrowed her eyebrows together "why?"

"because i think you'll like that one." he replied

"but the whole point of the game-"

"neens, just take the chocolate!" he pleaded with a sigh

"okay, okay," nini mumbled as she reached for the little piece of chocolate "i'm telling you if this one is the most disgusting one then i'll kill you then revive you to kill you again."

ricky shook his head with a nervous smile as he realized she hadn't properly looked at the box and went on with eating the chocolate, humming in approval as she kept her gaze on him

"actually you're right, that one is a good one." she confessed

"nini." he called

"your turn!" she jumped happily

"nini." he called again, the girl looking at him in confusion

"what?" she asked

"you didn't properly take a look at the box." he whispered, pointing at it

nini chuckled "it's just a box of chocolates babe-"

"nini," he said slowly, pushing the box towards her "look."

the brunette girl returned his gaze hesitantly before finally glancing down at the box, her mouth dropping in surprise when she saw a small diamond ring where one of the chocolates was supposed to be.

she felt speechless, her breath getting taken away as ricky reached for the ring and held it up, getting up from his chair and going down on one knee

nini moved her gaze to his, bringing her hands up to her mouth as he smiled softly at her

"i...um-i suck at speeches." he chuckled, the girl joining him as she wiped a tear that fell from her eye "but...you're the love of my life. and you make me feel everything i want to feel. i'm so lucky that you walked into my life two years ago and i love being with you every day. i want this to be our forever..."

nini sniffled as she let more happy tears fall from
her eyes and ricky took a deep breath

"so, nini salazar-roberts...will you do me the honor and marry me?"

she didn't need any moment to think or to process what was happening, nodding quickly and smiling like a cheshire cat as she quickly wrapped her arms around him and jumped in his arms

"that a yes?" he asked with a laugh as he held her

nini giggled "a thousand times yes."

she pulled away from him before connecting their lips together, the two giddy and full of content as they pulled apart for him to slide the ring on her finger

"it's not really that much..." he said as he watched her examine it "you know? with money and all...but once the recording studio takes off-"

"it's perfect." she said softly, looking at him full of love "you could give me a ring made of wood and it would be perfect."

he looked at her "really?"

"of course bubs." she whispered with a grin "because either way it'll show one thing."

"hmm what's that?" he inquired with a raised eyebrow

"that i'm yours. always and forever."

ricky's smile widened as he nodded "and i'm yours. always and forever."

the brunette girl returned his expression as she felt him lean in to close the gap between them once more, being the most happiest they could ever be and ready to start their best life that they could ever live.
