the cold december air greeted the evening of new york city; snow draped the town and the dark midnight blue sky contrasted with the warm city lights beautifully.

it was silent in the street until the sound of a happy pair walked out of the movie theatre hand-in-hand, one of them excitedly giggling at something the other had whispered in her ear

"look how pretty the snow is!" she squealed in a happy manner, looking around as a breath of air escaped her and her husband gazed down at her with adoration, smiling from ear to ear.

she looked back up at him and smiled back "what?"

he leaned forward to capture her lips on his, the girl's beam of happiness lighting up the night even more as she pulled away

soon, the cold air was too harsh, the both of them making their way to their car.

the brunette girl rushed inside the vehicle with a breath as she sat inside and turned the heater on, rubbing her hands together and watching her husband quickly scrape the snow off of the front window

"that's good!" she exclaimed with a bright smile, putting her thumbs up as ricky ran to the drivers seat, sitting down and putting his seat belt on as he took his beanie off

nini exhaled "i can't feel my fingers." she giggled, holding her hands out with a knowing grin

the curly-haired man chuckled as he took ahold of her hands in his and brought them to his lips, placing warm butterfly kisses on them, nini heating up at his touch as her smile widened

"thank you." she beamed. ricky smiled at her and turned to sit and properly face the front

"let's go home." he grinned, pulling the car out of the lot as they both drove their way through the snow-covered roads.

nini turned the radio up, nodding her head in approval to the song playing as she held ricky's hand and looked out the window, singing under her breath.

ricky always loved their car rides. he loved listening to her sing and loved singing with her on occasions too.

"okay, what are we eating tonight?" nini asked

"i could make something." he smirked

nini nodded brightly "okay, so we'll order pizza?"

ricky popped his lips, faking a hurtful sigh "you wound me."

"awww, baby." she cooed as he let out a light laugh "i'm sorry and i love you. but i'm going to put this lightly when i say you can't cook for shit..."

"that was putting it lightly?" he asked with a raised eyebrow, glancing at her "i'm not that bad of a cook."

nini giggled "need i remind you of the burger incident?"

"i did a simple mistake!" he exclaimed

"you didn't cook the patty!" she laughed loudly

ricky rolled his eyes playfully but he couldn't hide the smile on his face at the sound of his wife's laugh. his favorite sound.

"fine, we'll have pizza." he sighed

"vegetarian for you and pepperoni for me." she nodded knowingly, taking her phone out to call the pizza place before a sudden gasp escaped her, ricky looking at her in interest before back at the road in front.

"what's up?"

"i just remembered, you know i was reading—"

"you read?" he asked jokingly

"ha ha," she drawled, unable to hide her smile as she lightly nudged him "i was reading something and there was this fact that a girl is more likely to get pregnant if she did it in a car."

ricky let out a chuckle, shaking his head as they arrived at a red light "you're not serious?"

he looked back at her and saw a knowing smirk on her face as she unbuckled her seatbelt

ricky raised his eyebrows in surprise "oh wait you're serious—"

he got cut off when he felt her lean forward to kiss him and he kissed her back instantly, feeling her smile which made his own form.

the man cradled her cheek gently as ran a hand through his curls and pulled him closer, him chuckling at how eager she was between the kisses and he trailed some down her neck.

but before they could go any further, nini opened her eyes and she pulled away to see two bright headlights arriving towards them in a fast motion

she furrowed her brows in confusion to focus on what was happening before she suddenly widened them and held him tightly in fear, opening her mouth

"RICKY—"

a loud crash interrupted her warning call. echoes of glass shattering all around them and the car flipped over. muffled alarms blared around and lights flashed through as everything went silent in their minds and the darkness consumed them.
