"Can I get Snapchat?" I asked.
"What's a snap chat?" Mom asked me.
"It's a social media site where you send pictures to people."
"No, I don't want you posting some stupid shit that gets in the way of getting you into a good university," she said and continued to read her book.
I paused and said, "That's not how it works. You take a picture and choose who it gets sent to."
"Can't you just text people?"
"This is better, though," I pleaded.
She thought for a moment and tapping her chin. "No."
