The girl felt an undeniable sadness whenever the thought of the boy crossed her mind. In fact, her first instinct when she saw him was to run up to him and squeeze till his breath would no longer come easy.

But she didn't follow her gut.

Instead she nervously glanced at his stoic face while he walked past her in the hallway. She knew what it felt like to be sad, and she didn't want him to feel that way anymore.

But what was she, a quiet, anxiety ridden, girl supposed to do to make him feel content again? She was just one person, who in the end, never amounted to much, never mattered anyway. Especially to a boy she'd only ever said two words to before.
