Hollyheart smiled as she slipped through the warriors den, under the cover of darkness. Her heart hammered with excitement as she looked about. The warriors were fast asleep, including the smaller form of her sister.
Hollyheart smiled softly, nudging her sister's face with her paw softly, before padding out. She slipped past the warriors on guard at the entrance, carefully padding through the territory.
It was a half-moon. Medicine cats were already out and communicating with StarClan at the Starlight Overlook; a large hill where a lake ran up and down, a waterfall landing in the raging river below. The meadow itself was riddled with flowers, said to be stars that fell from StarClan to be amongst the medicine cats, so StarClan would always be with them.
She sat down at the creek, ears twitching as she listened, making sure there was no one watching her, no one following her.
But everything was as silent as the stars above them. Hollyheart sighed in relief, her green eyes shining happily.
She knew what she was doing was wrong, against everything the Star's Echoes had told her, their laws, and codes. But there was something about it all she couldn't ignore, something that- made her feel at peace, feel happy, something she hadn't felt in a long time, not even being a part of a clan she loved dearly with a sister she loved more than lift itself.
Shaking her head, she kept walking, further away, smiling as she saw a familiar face sitting by a river, down a steep hill.
"Sunsetscar!" She called. The tom looked up, ears twitching as he purred, racing up the hill to her.
"There you are...I was beginning to think you were getting bored of me and my dashing company."
Hollyheart snorted, rolling her eyes as she pushed herself against the tom, who purred in kind to her, licking her cheek gently.
"Dashing? Not so much. I'd say...tolerable."
"Tolerable? You wound me my dear Holly..."
Hollyheart laughed, and looked aside to the tom, his yellow eyes gleaming at her lovingly.
"Are you sure you weren't followed?"
"No. I'm sure."
"Right..."
"So-" Hollyheart chuckled as she sat down- "what are we doing tonight hm?"
"Well...I was thinking...we'd leave the territories for a bit. There's someone who wants to meet you." Hollyheart tensed, looking up.
"Wh-Who?"
Sunsetscar smiled. "My mother." Upon noticing her frightened gaze, the tom quickly hurried to calm her down. "It's okay! She- She isn't as...uptight as these clans. These leaders. Trust me..." Hollyheart looked aside, nudging him.
"I do...I trust you..." She looked aside, curling her tail with his. The warrior giggled as she watched Sunsetscar's pelt heat up, his eyes widening, before he settled, nudging her close.
"Then follow me my dear...it's a bit of a journey."
"Lead the way. As long as I can get back before sunrise."
