they told me everybody's got their own soulmate made specially for them,
so then someone gets a plus one, if their soulmate up and leaves them?
i know i made mistakes, but if you were truly the one for me,
you'd stay so we could fulfill that prophecy and our destiny.

you see the reason why i don't believe in fairy tales?
the ones who spread them are as mindless, as dog wagging tails,
—to the storytellers, who have them on a leash,
concocting incredulous make believe,
just so they could give everyone desperate a fantasy,
a possibility where they're cherished and loved,
but there is a reason why they need to listen to stories—
in the first place, to get a glimpse of love they're pathetic.

i hate you girl in particular,
i'm not even being bitter,
but i hate your smile in particular,
i hate all the times we spent together,
the memories scarred me like a serrated iron bar,
i should have known you were a diva.

whatever happened to bracing through an hailstorm?
first sight of a flood and you're gone,
whatever happened to second chances and a shot at redemption?
what sort of a Christian, are you?
your Bible says forgive and forget,
instead you bailed like there was a theft—
and the robbers took your heart away,
and you can't feel no more.

i hate you girl in particular,
hope you trip and fall into hot lava,
you might have been my past lover,
but make no mistake, you left me with no fever—
when you left, my head's never been more clear,
that love is for fools.

i hate you girl in particular,
i'm not even being bitter,
but i hate your smile in particular,
i hate all the times we spent together,
the memories scarred me like a serrated iron bar,
i should have known you were a diva.
