"Mom" I said. I had been thinking about this for quite some time now; whether I should tell my mom or not. But the hallucinations were getting worse, I had began hearing things too. I can't keep living like this. Everytime I go out, I'm terrified because I can hear someone calling me.

I had to tell someone, I couldn't tell my friends though. I was Maya Labell, the queen bee. I could show no faults, I had to be absolutely perfect in every single way.

"Yes Maya" my mom answered looking up from her iPad.

"There's something I need to tell you" I said and so I did. I spilled every little thing that I had bottled up inside of me. For some time my mom didn't answer.

"Well?" I asked.

"Oh Maya, this is all just in your head" she said. I couldn't hear anything after that, all that I saw was red.

"B-but there are doctors-" I began and then she cut me off.

"Oh Maya, all those doctors want is money. Now don't you go off telling your father or other people about this. You understand?" she said.

"But-"

"No buts Maya"

I may have had hundreds of friends, but in that moment I realized that I was completely and utterly on my own.
