Chapter 2

Me'Onna POV

May 7th 2021 Syracuse, New York

Uh-oh, the game in trouble
Started off small, now they payin' me double
Yeah, you can drip check, baby, like Mustard, yeah

Money team, got a whole M in a duffle

Lil baby blasted through my AirPods as I ran on the treadmill before I started my lift session for the day. I was currently at school, just finished my last class of the day so I decided why not go to the gym. My first love is the gym anyway so it wasn't a problem being here, being here without my brother was a little weird because that's my main gym buddy we always here together but it is what it is.

I get off the treadmill and decide to do a quick lift since I got mad home work to do and I like to get my homework done ahead of time. I finish my lift and decide to get food before I go to my apartment, I have a cheat day every once in a while so I'll get Chick-Fil-A.

I pull up to the Chick-Fil-A and get me, Summer and, Tae some food because I know their asses gon be hungry. I pay for the food and make my way to my apartment, when i get there I put my book bag on my back and then grab the food.

"Excuse me bitches but I come bearing gifts, and by gifts I mean food because I know y'all fat asses is hungry so y'all can thank me." I said sitting the food on the counter making them laugh and come grab it.

"Girl you must've read my mind I just told tae I was gon order some food cause I was dumb hungry but here you come with some food soon as I was boutta order. This why I love you bitch." she said kissing my cheek and grabbing her food, we all eat different stuff so it wasn't hard to know whose food was who's.

"Bitch you know my big ass always hungry, I don't hit the gym like y'all so I'll just be a bad big bitch. Ain't nun wrong with a lil meat on the bone they like em thick." He said putting emphasis on thick making me and Summer die laughing.

I get my laptop out my bag and sit it up on the counter so I could do the work that I had to do for class. I always check my emails first because the teachers might've assigned something or sent a link to something, you never know with these teachers from The Cuse. Once I get to my email I see one email that sticks out like a stripper in church, It had Cincinnati In the Subject.

Dear Ms. Johnson,

Good Afternoon, My name is Brian Wilkins the athletic director for the Cincinnati Bengals. On behalf of the staff here for the Cincinnati Bengals we have seen your work on social media, and have heard a lot of good things from you through recommendations. We love your dedication and hard work as a trainer and we love the results that we see from your clients. We would love to offer you a spot as a trainer for the team to work with the guys and get them stronger and faster each season. I swear I had to read it about five times before I realized that it was real, I couldn't believe a professional NFL team wanted me as a trainer this is unreal. I didn't know what else to do so I just screamed and dropped my half and half making it spill, Making Tae and, Summer look at me like I was crazy.

"Girl it just better be a good reason why you screaming in my damn house." Tae said.

"First of all it's our house but it is a great reason why I just did that, y'all gon scream too when you see it." I replied back rolling my eyes chuckling at his antics.

"I know its OUR house but I always wanted to say it but what's the reason you screamed like somebody just ran ya dog over." He said and I waved them both over so they can read the email too.

They both came over and I turned my laptop so they would be able to see it at the same time. Once they both read the email they screamed just like I did, they were just as shocked and excited as me. They started shaking me and then pulled me into a big group hug squeezing the life out of me.

"Bitch this is major, I'm happy for you mama you been working for this for so long and you finally did it." Summer said kissing my forehead.

"I second that bitch you better call them people right now." Tae told me.

I decided to make it a more special moment so I FaceTimed my Little brother through my laptop since I had a MacBook. Just so him and my parents could be in on the moment where I make this call. The laptop dials my brother and he picks up quick.

"Yooo sis Waddup doe?" He said biting an apple I could tell he was in the kitchen.

"Where ma and pa at I got something to tell y'all." he called our parents and sits the phone up so I could see all of them and they could see me. "whats the new babygirl, you better not be pregnant." my dad said making everybody laugh.

"She not pregnant pops we made sure that didn't happen Summer said poking her head in the camera and Tae popped in on the other side waving to my parents. They all had their moment of talking and catching up forgetting that this was about me.

"Um this not a family reunion this is about the news that I have did we forget already." Everybody got quiet, so I started to read the email that I got and you could see my mom tearing up, my brother hitting the Dougie and my dad smiling from ear to ear. When I got finished they all congratulated me and told me to call the man that sent me the email, so I dialed the number and waited for the man to answer. I'd be lying if i said I wasn't mad nervous waiting for him to pick up but I gotta be professional so all that nervous shit gotta go out the door.

"Hello Brian Wilkins Speaking." He said answering the phone everyone could hear him because he was on speaker.

"Yes Hi Mr. Wilkins It's Me'Onna Johnson Calling about an email I received about training for the Bengals." I said trying to sound as professional as possible.

"Ahh yes Ms. Johnson hello great to hear from you. As I stated in the email we'd love to have you as a trainer if you're willing to take the offer, the coaches and athletic staff have already talked it over and created a contract for you if you feel as if we are the right fit for you." He explained to me.

"Of course I'd love to take the offer Thank you for offering me this position. When would you guys like me start?"

"If you could fly out in about three days to meet the coaching staff and the players that would be great and we could go from there. The staff knows about you coming and joining the team but the players do not so it would be their first time meeting you, between me and you they hate the trainer they have now." He said making me laugh.

"That's fine So I'll see you in three days, Thank you so much Mr. Wilkins I really Appreciate it."

"No Ms. Johnson Thank you, and I'll email you the rest of the information and instruction to follow for when you get here." He said hanging up making me jumping up and down with excitement.

"Yeahhhh sis The Bengals worddddd?" My brother said.

Man its still so unreal how quick this all happened, but I'm beyond proud of myself and its definitely well deserved. So I hang up from my parents and brother and decide to email my teachers about the opportunity that I got and that I was taking it. Most likely I would have to drop out of school but that was fine for me because this was my dream.

Wow I'm really about to live out my dream.
