Captain Rex sits in the cockpit of the Y-Wing. The ship simply drifting in the sea of stars. Ashoka decided to part ways and for the first time in his life he felt lost-without purpose. A soldier bred for battle without a war to fight. He hangs his head in his hands. All those troopers gone and for what?

His fingers brush the scar on the right side of his head. The tightness in his chest only growing. Fives...if only I had listened to you?

Rex leans back in the seat and gazes at the emptiness of space. No planet, moon, or system in sight.

"Brothers...," Rex says to himself.

The word 'family' suddenly pops into Rex's head. Someone said that to me once. He mentally cycles through conversations he remembers and the image of a clone trooper impersonator materializes behind his eyes. The dark mythosaur teeth bearing at him at 79's bar and a raised drink.

"Perhaps it's time to visit an old friend." He sets the NAV computer, steers the ship in the correct trajectory and initiates the jump.
