War

I have lost the war,
I have lost the battle,
I have lost my sanity,
And I have lost so many things
Because of you.

I wish I could no longer see,
I wish I could no longer care,
But, for some reason, I still do.
I don't know what it is
Or why it is, but you expect me to treat you with
Respect when you can't show me any.

I may be your child, it's true,
But there is no need to make me feel so utterly hopeless.
My mistake was being born,
After all, you like your son better,
And there is nothing I can do
To help you see that I am just as good.

Everyone hates me, I have lost the war,
I can only sit a cry,
What's the point of being alive?
It's all such misery,
I hate myself, I hate myself,
I hate everything about me,
And I can never change that
Because I have lost the war.
