Tommy sighed, continuing to walk towards the fae circle.

He froze once seeing the fae still as present in his ring, but that wasn't what shocked him.

Outside of the faerie ring was what seemed to be a human. However, they were holding an iron dagger.

And with the scarce knowledge that is traded away, they knew that iron could kill a fae.

The blade was pointed towards Wil's neck, the brunette grinning despite the situation.

"What's going on here?" Tommy narrowed his eyes.

It was genuinely stupid to kill a fae. You would anger the fae's hearth, and you don't want the wrath and fury of multiple fae upon you.

The presumed fae hunter turned towards Tommy.

"Does it bother you?" They spat.

"In fact, it really does. You don't want to be cursed, do you?"

Wil tilted their head to the side in interest.

The fae hunter threw their head back in a cackling fit.

"I'm not an amaetur. I have experience, kid."

Tommy's eyebrows furrowed.

"Who are you, anyways? I never saw you in the village."

Tommy curled his fists, staring coldly.

"There's a reason why they banished me."

The fae hunter widened their eyes as Tommy began speaking a cryptic language.

"Redire ad tuum mansit, numquam redire, esse absint, sic semper tyrannus."

Suddenly, a red mist gathered around the fae hunter.

Tommy could care less that his identity was revealed. Everyone already knows he was a witch - it was why he was banished in first place.

Once the mist dissipated, the fae hunter was now missing.

Tommy heard clapping, looking back up at Wil.

"Well done! But may I ask, why did you bother intervening?" He raised a brow.

Tommy shrugged, "He was a wrongun."

Wil blinked.

"What?"

"Nothing, just did it out of the goodness of my heart."

The fae narrowed his eyes.

Tommy widened his in realisation; "Wait- fuck, you don't owe me shit."

The fae exhaled slowly.

"Why did you come here again? You didn't owe me that favour twice."

"Ah, right. It's about these." Tommy pulled out the bouquet.

The fae grinned, revealing sharp teeth.

"Like my gift?"

Tommy sighed, "I can't take this. I don't er, need it."

"Would you want something else, then?" Wil cocked his head.

Tommy shook his head, "No, I'm just going to head to the village."

The fae raised his head slowly.

"Didn't you say you were banished?"

"I thought the cloak gave my plans away." Tommy sighed.

Wil hummed, "How were you banished?"

"One day it all went to shit. People caught word that I was a witch, and they drove me out, threatening to kill me."
