Chapter Six - Truce

Start from the beginning

I was impressed, not to say shocked, with how good they were. I kind of freaked out too because I thought I have been doing good but these people, they were all so much better than me. I guess I wasn't practicing enough.

"Okay, now Gabriel, do routine 7 with my guest, Anntonella." Lorena said looking between me and the male-lead of the company. I didn't know i would have to dance!

I wanted to run away so no one would see how much I suck but I couldn't.

Gabriel graduated 2 years ago or so and he went directly from student to male-lead, which showed how freakin awesome he is.

'Breath, Anntonella, breath!!!' I tried to calm down as Gabriel lead me to the centre.

I knew routine 7 from last year and it had some difficult movements of lifting and spinning. Thank God I practiced those this week or else I would definetely fall.

The music started playing and I forced myself to imagine that there was only me in the room, along with my partner.

He smiled at me and we held hands to begin the routine. I blinked twice and somehow I managed to calm down and do my best. Okay, maybe I wasn't as good as everyone else, but I didn't suck and I was still in my second year.

Gabriel helped so much! He was that kind of guy who makes you feel safe and comfortable. His skills and good-lookings helped a lot too. He had blond hair cut low and green bright eyes and I wondered if he had a girlfriend.

"I told you she was good." I heard Mr. Klein, my dance conseulor whispering to Mr. Holmes and assumed I did a good job.

"That was impressing both Gabriel and Anntonella." Gerald said and me and Gabriel thanked, going back to our places.

After the performances all that happened was discussions about the show and how they were going to do everything. I got lost in the middle and tried to pretend I was still listening when I felt a hand touching my shoulder. I didn't realize Gabriel was standing by my side.

"Is it really your second year?" He asked me in surprise. Apparentely the dancers didn't have to pay attention to this part of the meeting. The great part of them were separated talking to each other and dancing.

"Yeap." I said casually. What was that?

"You're good." Was all he said with a teasing grin on his face. He should get tons of girls with that smile for sure. And somehow I thought that if he tried a little more I would join this list.

"Thanks, I guess. You're not too bad yourself." I teased back. I mean, he is THE best.

He left a small chuckle escape and thanked me.

The rehearsal was already finishing and we were released to leave.

"Hey, can I get your number?" Gabriel asked me as I was leaving the room. I turned back to look at his face and smiled.

"I guess so." I answered and he passed me his cellphone so I could save my number.

Of course that when I was heading back to my room I had this huge grin on my face. Since Mike, I haven't dated anyone and the possibility of that happenning with Gabriel Finn, the male-lead of the company and one of the most hot guys in the school was worth some excitement.

"What was it like?" Mila was waiting for me in the mini-living room we had in our dorm. There was only a 2 seats coach, a 22' flat screen tv and a table for 2 aside.

"I had to do routine number 7!" I told her and she was as shocked as I was at first. "And... With THE Gabriel Finn, who happened to ask for my number." Now my friend was jumping and hugging me. Okay, maybe she was a little more excited than I imagined.

"This is just sooo perfect!" She said enthusiastically.

"It's not that big of a deal, actually. What's with the excitement?" I had to ask. "You had coffe, didn't you?" Mila was intolerant to caffeine, everytime she had it she got too energized.

"What? No!" She protested. "But something DID happen." Now I was curious and didn't have to say anything beause I already knew she would tell me either way so I just sat in the couch and waited. "Jake asked me out! On a real date!" She almosts screamed.

I lifted one of my arms in a little 'yeah' movement. "I knew he would!" I shouted. Since the party on Tuesday they've been hanging out but nothing happened. I was sure he would ask her out but she wasn't.

"He said he's been planning to ask me but didn't think I would say yes." She said like a 15 year old teenage. "He's just so cute!"

"Cute is not the best definition, you know." I joked. He is huge and pure male, I don't think cute fits him.

"Oh, shut up." Mila threw a pillow on me and we started laughing.

"I'm going to buy something to eat, do you want anything?" I asked as I got up to go to the coffe shop downstairs.

"Nope, thanks." Mila said and went to her room.

As I got to the coffe shop I saw Noah there and wondered if I should wait for him to leave or not. I really didn't want to have another awkward situation with him. I was managinh to see him only in class and even then I tried to not get close.

When I decided to wait outside it was too late and he saw me in the entrance so I pretended I didn't see him and went to the noodles segment pretending I was choosing some.

"You don't like noodles." A voice said behind me and I jumped in surprise. Darn. He knew me too well. How did he remember I didn't like noodles? I should definetely have come to the cookie segment.

"It's for my roommate." I tried to sound convincing and hoped he believed me.

"Oh." I guess he bought it. The Oscar goes for me, again. "Look." Noah said as I tried not to look at him and concentrate in the disgusting noodles. "I know what happened with us wasn't nice but it's past and since we're going to see each other often, I thought we should just start over and leavethe past behind." Noah said and I had to look at him struggling as if he was scared of hearing my answer.

First I thought how dare him to ask me to forget what happened and pretend it's allright but he was just being Noah and trying to be nice.

I knew I should walk away cause probably after the end of the semester he would leave and hurt me again. And for a moment I started to tell him that but instead I just said "The past is in the past."

I put on a smile and his expression changed from scared to relieved.

I must say it felt good. I know I would never be able to forget and forgive but it's been 4 years now and I should be able to move on.

"Truce?" He asked with a small smile. Every time when we were younger and we argued over something stupid like a piece of cake, he asked me that, so I just nodded.

"Truce." I agreed
