THE SOUND OF A RINGING PHONE ECHOED AROUND THE POLICE STATION, BREAKING THE TENSE SILENCE THAT HAD SETTLED OVER THE BUILDING. Aelia had been taken out of the holding cell around 20 minutes ago and was now sitting in a room, anxiously picking at her nails, waiting to be interrogated.

Suddenly the door swung open and Sheriff Peterkin entered the room. "I knew this day would come." She scoffed as she shut the door. She then made her way over to her desk, "It was only a matter of time before you ended up in here, just a lot sooner than I thought it would be." She threw a folder onto the desk as she looked down at Lia who crossed one of her legs over the other, the girl just looked up at the Sheriff and smiled sarcastically.

"You should have just left with you mother when you had the chance to." Peterkin sat down across from Lia. "Even over in Charleston I would have gotten in trouble." The Brooks girl shrugged.

"Your brother has been in here plenty of times too, committing over five crimes. Are you gonna follow in his footsteps?" Her eyes flickered up to Aelia before looking back down at the file, "Trespass on protected habitat. Felony destruction of property." She read making Lia roll her eyes. "Both in the last 2 weeks. You're on a roll, chief."
