My name is Elizabeth Swan, and this is the story of how I fell in love with Jasper Hale.

It was my first day at a new high school. I have lived in Forks all my life which gave me an advantage, it was a small town and I knew almost everyone. Why am I going to a new school in the middle of my Junior year, you might ask? Well last month my best friend Jane died in a car crash. I couldn't bring myself to go back to that school again. She was the popular girl and was practically at the heart of that high school, so I am going to Forks High this year instead. I also wanted a new start to make new friends, and my school had terrible teachers.
So here I was in my pale teal truck outside of Forks High preparing myself for what's inside.

My dad Charlie had bought my truck as a gift for my 16th birthday and I love it. My dad always tries to spoil me when he can since I am the only one he can. My mom and dad divorced 7 years ago and she took my sister Bella with her, they decided that they would each get one kid. My mom of course chose Bella since she was her baby even though we were only a year apart. My dad has always tried to make me feel special since my mom didn't care about me and only Bella.
So it's been me and dad ever since, I'm not complaining I love my dad, I just wish my mom would at least call or wish me a happy birthday each year. But she has gone on with her life pretending like I don't exist. My sister Bella was always my mom's favorite, so Bella never liked me much, we just kind of ignored each other. I was older than Bella by a year I was born February 8th while she was born April 10th the next year. I was only spoiled for one year till Bella took all the attention.
I still love Bella and would never wish any harm to her so I try not to think about it to much. But enough about me! Back to my first day at Forks High.
I got out of my truck and made my way to the office to get my schedule. All my classes passed by fast and before I knew it, it was time for lunch. I made my way through the cafeteria, I sat at a table by myself not really wanting to try to make friends during lunch. I pulled out the book I was reading 'Pride and Prejudice' which was Jane's favorite book and she was always trying to get me to read it, I decided now would be a great time. I was so engulfed in the book that I didn't hear when someone sat in front of me at the table.
