Mitsuya grabbed all of our things and treated us to a restaurant as his welcome treat. He even got Rina a teddy bear her size and a bouquet of tulips for me.

Right now, he's driving us to our apartment. Rina's sleeping in the backseat, she probably felt the jetlag from the flight earlier.

“Are you okay?” Mitsuya asked. I looked at him and smiled.

“Of course, I'm just tired from our flight.”

He grabbed my hand with his free one and caressed it, not taking his eyes off the road. My eyes widened in surprise, he was never this clingy to me so it's kinda new to my feeling.

“It'll be fine.”

There was a small smile on his lips and it made me smile too. I know Mitsuya will never change. If ever, he would be more gentlemanly and just especially kind. He's everyone's dream guy.

While feeling the warmth of his palm, I let my eyes drift off to sleep.

I flutter my eyes open as I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder.

“Good evening, we're here.”

Mitsuya is already carrying Rina. A yawn escaped my mouth. I gave him a weak smile before going out of his car.

“Thank you, Mitsu,” I said using the nickname I used to call him before. There was a big smile on his face.

“No problem, (y/n).”

The apartment is on the third to the last floor of the 10 story building. It's a modernly styled room. Very simple yet classy.

Mitsuya laid Rina on the bed and cover her with a blanket. She's on a deep slumber and would probably wake up by tomorrow morning.

I put our luggage somewhere in the corner of the room and went to Rina to kiss her forehead.

“Goodnight, honey,” I whispered.

“Night, mom.” She answered back after snuggling on one of Mitsuya's pillows.

“She's a sweet girl,” Mitsuya said while watching us.

“Yeah,” I smiled back after walking away from the sleeping child.

“You want tea?” I offered and Mitsuya just nodded before we left the room.

Mitsuya sat at the bar stool as he watch me make our tea. His lazy eyes followed me and my moves.

“Do you want me to make it instead? You should take a rest,”

“No, no! This is the least I could do for you.” I smiled shyly before turning my back to avoid the awkwardness forming between us.

He's just too good it's making me nervous.

We waited for the water to boil without saying anything and just listened to the noise coming from the kettle. The silence is killing me. The moment it's done boiling, I immediately poured it on our cups.

“Let's go to the balcony?” I said and again, he just followed.

The cold breeze touches my skin, sending shivers to my spine. Both of us are leaning on the grills with the warm cup of tea in our hands. The lively city of Roppongi shines so brightly in our perspective.

“Is something bothering you?” Mitsuya decided to start the conversation.

“What do you think?” I said.

“Is it him?

No words escaped my mouth that made Mitsuya sigh.

“Do you want to talk about it?”

This time, I decided to look at him. His lazy eyes greeted me, it's full of concern and worry.

“I don't think I can.”

He put his cup down on the glass table and opened his arms.

“C’mere.”

I stare at him for a minute after coming into his arms. I feel safe and sound. The cold breeze is merging up so well with the warmth of his body. He smells like lavender and ocean breeze. It was soothing.

“I hate myself.”

“Why?”

“Because Rina doesn't deserve a mother like me. I'm too, bad and lame. I feel like I'm the worst mother every child would ever have.”

“Don't say that. Rina's eyes tell everything about how much she loves and adores you. Stop being harsh on yourself.”

“I just can't stand with myself lying to her. This is just too wrong!”

I didn't notice that my eyes are now wet with tears. Mitsuya started rubbing my back to calm me down.

“If she didn't just want to meet her father personally, I would keep her with me in New York forever. You wouldn't be involved with my problem too, Mitsuya. I'm such a bad person!”

My grip on his shirt tightened as I cried even harder. He didn't say any word, he just let me cry to release the heavy feeling.

“Being strong enough to come back here even if it's hard makes you the bravest person ever, (y/n). The thought of wanting Rina to be happy is enough to make you a good mother.”

I looked up to see him smiling softly. He knows what to say when I'm feeling down. This world doesn't deserve this man.

He wiped my tears away before kissing my forehead for a long time.

“I'm willing to be her acting father as long as I'm alive. You were never a burden to me, (y/n).”

I was too stunned to speak so I just hugged him tightly as if I never want to let go. Mitsuya's been always kind and sweet to me ever since we were in middle school.

“I don't know what would I do without you. Thank you, Mitsu.”

“You're always welcome, (y/n), always welcome.”

Meanwhile, at the Bonten's hideout.

“Haven't you heard, brother?”

A guy with neatly fixed hair drinking scotch said. There was a hint of a smirk on his lips.

“Heard what?”

The one with a jellyfish haircut said with irritation in his voice.

“(y/n)'s back together with a kid.”

Hearing her name made his world stop for a while.

It's been 7 years since you left Roppongi, (y/n), and now you're back with a child? How interesting.
