Jase smacked a fist into the wall.

He heard his knuckles crack from the force and let his hand drop, ignoring the throbbing pain.

The hired muscles were all idiots. They couldn't figure out a single plan. Kidnap a BWF. Hold hostage for info. When their friends show up, fight them off and when they leave, just let them go. They were supposed to keep the captive. Why was that so hard to understand?

Jase let out a sigh, his breath shaky with anger. No, it couldn't happen again. It was already mid-October, and they just kept slipping from his grip. Jase felt as if he'd tried everything, but their stupid Flaws would get in the way and save them all.

He heard a knock on his office door, begrudgingly, he opened it. Outside, stood a brunette woman, about the age of 35, maybe younger, maybe older. Her lips were pursed, her glare meaning business.

"I heard," she said. "That you needed some help."

Jase hated to admit it, but nodded.

"Perfect." she pushed her way into his office. "Because I have a deal to propose."
