Chapter 23

Next day Manik got up early brushed his teeth and directly went to Nandini's house. As he had keys to her apartment he entered inside without ringing the bell. As he went inside he saw Nandini coming out pressing her forehead.
Manik: Good morning.

Nandini jumped on her place hearing the sudden voice.

Nandini: Mani you scared me.

Manik: Sorry.

Nandini: When did you come in?

Manik: I just came in but forget about that you tell me how is your headache?

Nandini: It's fine.

Manik narrowed his eyes at her.

Nandini: What?

Manik: If it's fine then why were you pressing your head?

Nandini: I just could not sleep yesterday so I guess that's why.

Manik checked her forehead and cheeks for fever but her temperature was normal.

Manik: You don't have fever.

Nandini: It will be fine Mani. I am making tea do you want some?

Manik: You sit here I will make it for you.

Nandini: But...

Manik: No buts just here I will make something for you.

Nandini smiled and nodded at him.

Manik went inside kitchen and looked for something that he can make and he found bread packet so he decided to make some cheese toast.

He prepared everything and took it to Nandini to see her sitting there with closed eyes.

Manik:* he called her softly* Baby..

Nandini opened her eyes and looked at him.

Manik: Complete your breakfast.

Nandini looked at tray and then him.

Nandini: You made this?

Manik: Yes now come on and have this.

Nandini took it and had a bite.

Nandini: This is so good.

Manik: Really?

Nandini: Mhmm- hmm.

Manik looked at her and smiled.

Nandini: You also have it.

He nodded and both completed their breakfast in silence.

After breakfast both sat on the couch cuddling. Manik was playing with her hair while Nandini was starting to doze off.

Nandini: Mani.

Manik: Yes.

Nandini: Thank you for taking care of me.

Manik: Smile, you have nothing to thank me for.

Nandini: You are so good.

Manik chuckled and kissed her head.

Manik: Sleep smile, I will be here when you wake up.

Hearing no reply he looked at her to see her already sleeping with a small smile on her face.

He adjusted himself comfortably and he too dozed off unknowingly.

After few hours Manik opened his eyes to see Nandini still sleeping he kissed her forehead and slowly got up without disturbing her. He ordered food and went to get freshed, when he came outside he saw Nandini up.
