Your POV

I woke up in my chambers and started to get ready for the day. I could not stop thinking about how different Loki seemed from what I had heard. I had to put it out of my mind, though. Yes, I still had the days off —at least until a situation arose —but I agreed with Sif that I'd train with her that day. I put my armor on, walked towards the training grounds, and stole an apple from a fruit bowl along the way. I was a little groggy from waking up earlier than usual. I got to where I was supposed to be, and Sif was talking to someone. As soon as they left, I threw my half-eaten apple at her. She caught it, no questions asked, and I laughed. She smiled and threw it back to me. I lazily caught it and threw it away properly. "You sure took your time."

I yawned, "You're the only one who can get me up this early when it's not an emergency; you should feel honored." Sif laughed and started throwing punches at me. I dodged and caught her fists mid-air as she swung again. "Good, you're getting better at defending." We separated as we stretched, and she asked where I was yesterday after the small drinking party. "I was just reading." She raised her eyebrow at me. "You could have found any one of us." I smiled and went down in my split stretching. "I appreciate it, but I gotta slowly work my way into feeling welcomed into the bunch of brawn. Besides, I enjoyed the library. I wasn't lonely." She looked sort of confused as she started to get close to me to begin sparring. "Were you that into your reading? I knew you loved reading, but you're very... spirited, so it surprises me that you are so shy about involving yourself within the group." "I did talk to somebody, I'm not completely shy... And I know I am usually pretty extroverted, but I'm still adjusting to life in the palace, I guess. Not used to all the gold and glam."

She smirked as I got up and into my fighting stance. I started kicking at Sif's head and then tried to sweep her feet out from under her. She dodged and laughed. "You're so readable." I tried harder to land a hit on her. She and I traded punches for a while. My body was getting sore. "So you said you talked to someone. Anyone I should know about?" She wiggled her eyebrows, and I laughed as she threw me a practice sword and shield. "As if I'd have time to deal with anyone right now other than you and our merry band of numskulls." She chuckled, and I managed to land a hit on her. "Nice hit, but I know you can do better." I charged at her and managed to tackle her down. We traded blows, each deflecting the other's punches. Finally, I managed to pin her down and 'stab" her with the fake daggers we also had. "I win." I stuck my tongue out and got off of her.

I helped her up, and she brushed herself off. "You know I am proud of you, you're getting better and better." I didn't say anything, but smiled as I helped put our training weapons away. "I'm also impressed that you still avoided the question of who you talked to." I shrugged. "I guess I didn't think it was important enough to talk about. Besides, I needed focus to get a win over you." Sif smirked and then asked what I was doing later. "I don't know. Why?" "We still have to have a celebration welcoming you into the group." I rubbed the back of my neck and sighed. "Wouldn't it be too late to get things together by tonight? Besides, we had a drink the night I won." Sif half-heartedly laughed. "You forget where you are living now, AND who you serve. I am sure Thor could guarantee everything would be ready by evening." I rubbed my muscles to help get rid of the soreness and nodded. "Okay, but I beg of you not to make a big deal out of this." I sighed as Sif raised an eyebrow. I glared at her, letting her know I was not joking. "I'll let the staff and Thor know. It'll be just us." I started to walk back towards my room until Sif yelled at me not to wear anything too nice. Apparently, there would be a lot of drinking.

A handmaiden came around asking if I needed anything. I was confused since I really did not expect to have my own servant, but I asked if there was any way I could get a bath. She drew one up for me and led me to where I'd be bathing. I learned her name was Eira. None of it felt real. Whenever I felt clean enough, I threw the robe over me and headed back to my bed. I lay in my room trying to comprehend all this. I didn't really expect a lavish life as a warrior, to be quite honest. I thought about the conversations I had with Loki in the library. I blushed, remembering him kissing my knuckles at the end of the night. That was until a servant came by, knocking at my door, presumably to tell me it was almost time for our small celebration. I thought it was Eira at the door, so I just swung the door open to let her know I'd be out and about soon, but it was not her. "I'll be down in a second. You really needn't wait on me all the time. I'm not used to this type of life-" "Do you always open the door for men to see you in nothing but your bathrobes?" My eyes widened, and I covered up more by pulling the robe tighter around me. "N-no, I-I, wait, I'm sorry, why are you here?" "To tell you you'll be expected soon, but I did not foresee this." I hugged my robe tighter and took a deep breath. "Well, you told me, now can I go back to getting ready?" Loki smirked, "Of course, my lady." I closed the door awkwardly and slid down it. I was such an idiot. First, I hoped he didn't see anything he should not have. Second, I made a mental note to ask who was at my door from now on. Gods, that was embarrassing.
