This is the only way I can make sure that she stays safe.

"Let's go to sleep."

She nods her head in agreement. She turns to her side, so that her back is against my chest. I get settled next to her, snuggling my face in the back of her neck. My arm is draped around waist, holding her tight against me.

I'm scared she's going to disappear while I sleep.

The sunlight bleads into the room due to the curtains being slightly opened. I squint my eyes open until they adjust. It's only then that I realize I'm not in my bed. I look around the room. A vase of roses are on the night stand.

I'm in Rue's room. Now I remember coming in last night. Kissing Rue. Sleeping with her. Actually, not sexually. And talking with her.

I also remember the events of last night. The reason I got drunk. The guilt.

A knock on the door, interrupts me from my thoughts. I don't say anything to whoever is behind the door. But the person on the other side, comes in anyways.

"Hey Rue, I was wondering if we ca-" Kaylee suddenly stops talking. She stares at me. My arms wrapped around Rue, while she's still sleeping.

She lets out an exaggerated gasp. "I FUCKING KNEW IT-"

"Shut the fuck up!" I whisper-shout. "What do you want. Why the fuck would you just come in here." I asked angrily.

"This isn't even your room," she scoffs. "But, if you really want to know." She says as if she's annoyed. "I was going to ask Rue if she wanted to help me plan a send off." Her mood dies down a bit.

"A send off? For Aniyah?" I ask. She nods her head. I look down at Rue. She's slowly stirring awake. She's rubbing her eyes, scratching her arm, and just doing whatever a half asleep person does.

"We wouldn't do it today of course. I was just going to ask. Be ahead of time." She sighs, "I'll come back later." Kaylee sends a soft smile before leaving the room, closing the door behind her.

I lay back down and get into a comfortable position. I plant soft kisses on Rue's shoulder. She opens her eyes completely, rubbing them as she sits up.

It takes her a moment until her gaze meets mine. She smiles. "Hey," she says in a scratchy voice.

"Hey," I slightly smile, but it fades.

"I'm surprised you didn't leave early this morning. I would've thought you would be out discussing plans with Ivan."

"Nah, that's later." I laugh. "Which means, we can do something before I leave." I lean in and kiss the corner of her mouth. She giggles and pushes my face away.

"I thought I heard Kaylee in here?"

"She had came in while you were sleeping. She wanted to know if you would be interested in helping her with some stuff." I say, leaving out some details so the mood won't change.

"Ah." She exclaims. "Anyways. What were you thinking we could do today?" She turns her attention towards me.

"Shit- I don't know. I just... want to do something."

Maybe we can go for a walk?

Nope. Too cold.

A picnic?

Once again. Too cold.

Well what if we have the picnic inside-

Enough with the picnic!
