8. duty comes first

As per my plan I'm keeping myself away from Siddu and involved much more in my duty.

But today I got some free time so I decided to look at my wedding photos . I heard someone knocking at my cabin door.

" come in I called out "

Thats when Karthik anna came in. I was so happy to see him so I literally jumped on him hugging him tightly. Karthik Anna is my brother's best friend. He is like my family member. But yeah once upon a time I had crush on him and he too knew that.

But later we resolved it and then he became my brother.

" Why did you not come to my marriage " I asked him pouting.

" you know my situation " he said sighing.

" its okay anna... soon I will find a way " I said tapping on the desk.

" so how is married life " he asked me.

" much better than ever " I lied.

We spoke for some time and then he literally dragged me to the cafeteria to have some coffee. We had our coffee chit chatting.

While returning I heard some commotion inside. Before I could decipher a patient came with a knife to stab Karthik anna but in the mean time I pushed Anna and the knife slashed through my back.

I closed my eyes tightly in pain. I held onto Anna. The pain was unbearable in my back.

" Keerthi why the hell did you come in between " he yelled at me but I gave him a painful smile.

He is a doctor too. So took me to the stitching room and stitched the wound on my back. I can't wear my clothes since its too uncomfortable so he lend me his shirt from his cabin .

The nurse helped me to change it . I wore his shirt along with my jeans. His shirt was too big for me but I had no other way.

" you know you don't have to save me " he said grumbling like a grandpa.

" I could do anything for my brother " I told him smiling.

" keeping your life at sake for me isn't good " he said .

" I want to do it for you Anna " he walked towards me and hugged me. I hugged him in return.

" I will take care of you too " he said kissing my forehead. That's when the door opened.

I saw Siddu standing there. He looked angry.

" Let's go home " Siddhu said making me go along with him...
